Re: David's Bridal
the only thing I have heard, and I guess it depends on the person if it's a negative or not, it that the dresses are off the rack and steam cleaned....I don't think they are custome ordered, so you could potentially be buying a dress that other girls have tried on (I guess the same as buying at a sample sale though)

From what I have heard is that they only allow you to try on like 3 or 4 dress at an appointment also I heard they charge extra for alterations.

Re: David's Bridal
I bought mine from David's and had a great experience so far. I went to the one in Carle Place and worked with Marie. There was no limit to the number of dresses I tried could try on or the amount of time I was in the dressing room. I had a 10am appt, came armed with my pictures from the David's website of dresses I liked and she brought them to the dressing room. I finally decided to purchase at about 12:45pm (almost three hours in the dressing room). There was no pushing to buy or get out. She really didn't offer any suggestions. But she brought to me any dress I wanted. The dress I bought didn't have a sample in the color I wanted so she brought over another Oleg dress in white so I could see how it looked on me. She was also helping another bride and was not super attentive (ie standing over me while I tried on the dress), however, I preferred it that way. By default, I was able to take my time making a decision on each dress. My mother wanted to go out and buy a disposable camera and Marie said No since she didn't allow pictures. But later another bride took pictures and her attendant let her. Oh well.
I am not sure what I will do for alterations. I might take it elsewhere.

Re: David's Bridal
It depends on what your whole philosophy on the wedding gown is. Some epopel feel like I'll only wear it once, so why spend a lot? Some people feel like you only gtet married once, so go all out. I think David's gowns are very pretty, but the fabric isn't usually that good and the beading detail just isn't what you would get from a top designer. If you go to david's, I'd go somewhere else, just to compare the fabric, so you know what you're getting and you know the difference. I bought a prom dress at Db and my sister looked for gowns there for her wedding, their service was somewhat lacking...but if you don't want to spend a lot to get a beautiful dress and you don't need boutique style service, go for it

Re: David's Bridal
i went to the one in carle place soon after I got engaged...just to start off and get an idea of the kind of dress i wanted.
i thought the lady was really nice, marie, i think. she helps you try on the dress and doesnt push you or pressure you at all....there will be lots of other girls possibly trying on the same exact dress...but try to go when it isnt busy....
as for the reasonableness of the prices...they are very affordable...but dont just have the money in mind ...only b/c once you find THE dress...you can do lots of research and find it cheaper somewhere else...
david's bridal dresses are knock offs of the designer dresses....i think you should go....have fun...gotta start somewhere..
