Hey ladies, I ordered my dress June 21, 2005. It was exactly what I was looking for and the price was very good. They told me that it would be ready in August. Anyways, I went today with my Fiance's Grandma just to have her see the dress. To my surprise, it was already ready for me. The lady at the place was sooo nice to me. Very helpful. I'm mad at myself for forgetting her name. Anyways, I got the dress and it was all wrinkled. When you get your dress, is it suppose to be wrinkled? I didn't say anything because I have to get it altered anyways. I also had to pay an extra ten bucks for the bag to carry my dress in. Was I suppose to get it already pressed and in a bag??? Thanks.

They don't normally press it until after the alterations or at least I know they don't at David's.

Re: David's Bridal
David's was fast for me as well. As for the wrinkles, they will steam it after the alterations. I don't remember paying $10 for a bag. Maybe that's a new thing?

Re: David's Bridal
I had a great experience at David's over the weekend. their new store is not only really nice, but the sales associates were very helpful to my BP!
My dress came in and it was pretty wrinkled. Don't worry... your seamstress will steam the wrinkles out after it has been altered.

I also had a great experience at David's Bridal last week. I found a dress that I loved and the price just couldn't be better. No need to even try the pricier salons. The girls are right...the sales rep told me that they would press it if I got alterations there, otherwise you will have to get it done yourself or wherever you decide to get alterations. The $10 for the bag seems very suspect...I thought they were included....hmmm..

Re: David's Bridal
I would image it would probably get wrinkled during shipping...no sense in steaming it before the alterations. I think I am going to get my dress there too!!!! I want to go this weekend...I am torn between two dresses.

No the bag is not included sadly. I know someone who worked there and had a TERRIBLE experience with the other associates and management. She was told to just add the $10 onto the overall cost and not mention it to the customers! Totally turned me off!

Re: David's Bridal
I had a great experience at the new David's in The Source Mall the other day. Went in on a whim to look at some BP shoes and ended up getting my veils there! The quality and pricing were excellent, as was the service. I was very plesantly surprised as I had heard some really terrible things about David's in general. But my experience was great and my veils are expected to arrive in 3 weeks. Hopefully their delivery will be as positive as the purchasing experience.

Re: David's Bridal
Mine came in ( each of the wrong dresses- long story- on my brides review) like NEW- NO wrinkles and yes they charge 10 for the bag. I got mine in Carle Place. and after alterations they steamed the dress, pack it up nicely for you and steamed my veil too- I purchased it there too. That would bother me with the wrinkles. other girls were picking up too and theres werent wrinkled either.

Re: David's Bridal
Its disappointing getting the dress wrinkled and having to pay an extra ten dollars for a bag that should come with the dress. Oh, well. I guess I shouldn't complain over ten dollars. I also got my crindoline there and a pair of shoes. Question: Will they also press the crindoline???

Re: David's Bridal
Mine came in a basic white bag that zipped and said david's bridal on the front but I do think that they have another bag, but I didn't pay for my bag at all and I think there is a better bag that you have to pay for. I just figured I wasn't too far away from my wedding and after it I'll get it cleaned and preserved, so I went with the bag it came in.
My dress was also wrinkled, and since I went elsewhere for my alterations, I had it steamed by my seamstress. If you get the alterations done by them they'll steam/press it, otherwise you get it done by the person who does the alterations for you.

Re: David's Bridal
I just bought my dress from there today. And yes, I did pay $10 for the heavier, better made bag. My Mom said that is a definite. But who really cares about $10, when there dresses are like 2-$300 off other places, sometimes even more!!!

Re: David's Bridal
I guess I was fussing over the wrinkles because it was my first time showing it to my Fiance's grandma and I felt bad that it looked that way. I don't even want to show his mom yet because it doesn't look as amazing as it did when I first tried it on.
