David's Bridal

I'm looking for bridesmaids dresses and found alot of really pretty ones online at David's Bridal! Has anyone gotten dresses from there? How is it? I've heard of alot of problems with different bridal places so I just wanted some info before going there! Thanx!!

Re: David's Bridal

I was a MOH in my friend's wedding last year and we got the dresses at DB. Her bridal party was all over the country and she figured this was the easiest and cheapest way to get everyone's dress.

They were pretty unorganized. The dress we picked became discountinued and no one called us about it. Had one of the BM not called in with her measurements we would have never known!

We wound up finding another we liked with them and ordered them. After that everything was fine. My friend saw their alteration dept., however, and was horrified of it. So we got them altered elsewhere. Overall, I was pleased for the price I paid.

My BM's purchased their dresses at David's Bridal. Unfortunately in terms of customer service you do get what you pay for... I love the dresses that they found and it was easy and economical. Unfortunately, the person who helped us could not have possibly been more unhelpful, we waited in line forever to pay, they couldn't tell me if there were other dresses in the color I picked, etc. It was also sooo crowded! They ordered the dresses about 2 weeks ago and they will be in by early April, which is a plus. So, if you don't want your BM's spending too much and you can be patient, it's worth a trip. If you're easily frustrated and want lots of assistance, I would highly recommend skipping the place. (BTW: I went with a Plum colored dress - I love it!)

The dresses I like for my girls are at Davids Bridal. We are going on April 1st to try on etc. You have to make an appt. When I asked how much deposit is needed, THEY DON'T DO DEPOSITS!!!! The dress has to be paid in full in order for them to order the dress. I never heard of such a thing, but in any case, THANK GOD I'm giving them ample amount of time to gather up some cash before we go, just incase we all really like the dresses. I'll keep you updated!!

I got my dress at davids (it came in early - im getting it altered at a tailor), then looked at BM dresses cause i found alot i like online.. the selection in the store wasnt' too impressive , but we are going back to check it out futher since its pretty good value for a dress most people only wear once.. Good luck! Make sure you get them and Id say do alterations elsewhere since it is a chain store, you dont get the indiv. attention a private type tailor would give.

Hi AdamsAngel, welcome to LIW. I happen to be another Adam's Angel.

I got my BM dresses at David's. I've also been a BM three times, and all the dresses were lovely. Sometimes David's is not so great with customer service. I had awful service on my wedding dress, and so-so service for my BMs. However all the dresses came in early and in good condition. I'd grade them about a B.

all of my sis-in-law BM's dresses had stains on them and they were dirty!! All of them. Shipping was quick, but you get what you pay for. I will never get dresses there again. Sorry. Just my opinion. The seamstress also yelled at me, when we were told to go to her to help us get the stains out. She refused to do it and said 'who told you to come ask me?' Go back to them and have them help you. needless to say, we grabbed our dresses out of there and had them altered elsewhere.

I got my dress and the BM dresses at Davids Bridal and I had no problem with them! The prices were great and the dresses were gorgeous!!! We didn't use them for alterations though!

I bought my wedding gown there - the only advice I can share is that you go in there on a weekday and not the weekends when it is a ZOO!!!

If you decide against David's Bridal - I went and got my BM dresses at Helen's Boutique in Commack and my girls chose an alfred angelo dress that is really elegant!!!!! The customer service there was exceptional!

Re: David's Bridal

I got my BM's dresses from there. We had an awesome sales woman help us and the dresses came in early. I just booked them all for fittings and their seamstresses schedule is a bit hectic so our appts are not very convenient times for all the girls, but we made due and worked it out. No problems as yet!
