Does anyone have any positive/negative feedback on Davids Bridal. My Wedding is May of next year, and I think I am going to start at Davids Bridal first, I have their catalog and would like to bring my BM and have them try on some dresses while I do. Their prices seem reasonable, I can't see spending over $1,000 on a dress. Thank you!!

You dont have to go to Davids Bridal. They are really bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my dress in a bridal salon for $800 so did all my friends. Davids bridal's prices aren't that great and the service is non-existant. Trust me, please. Don't waste your time or ruin your day!

My experience at David's Bridal is that it all depends on which store you go to. I am using David's Bridal for my BM's dresses. My BM's live all over the US. I have visited David's Bridal stores in Chicago and CT with my bridesmaids and my expereince at these stores has been great. However, I have heard some horror stories re the store in Carle Place, so I will be placing the order for my BM dresses from a store out of state.

I am doing the same thing as Jeanene because my BM's are also all over. But I suggest that if you get any dresses from Davids that you have them altered somewhere else because they really get you with the price of their alterations at Davids.

Davids Bridal-not that bad(long)
I got my wedding dress there. I looked first on line, they have a good website with 3-D imagas of the dresses. I picked out a few I was interested in, and then went to the store. You fill out a paper, talk about sizes for a minute, they point you at a rack, and you are pretty much on your own. For me, that is fine, I don't need to be catered to. I picked out about 8 dresses, went inside and tried them on, narrowed it down, came back with my mom and made a decision. They weren't rude, they were busy and weren't always there to help me with zippers and stuff. Like I said, it's not an upscale place in that regard, but I liked the wide variety and being given lots of time to try dresses on. My dress was $525. I didn't get my BM dresses there bc I found them on line for $45 each at www.bridesmade.com. I have heard negative things about the alterations though (at David's) so if I need more than the dress hemmed I would go somewhere else. I would check it out, it's not as bad as others are making it out, although I do concede that different people have different experiences.

Check out Lynbrook Bridal...
I bought my dress there, and it was way less than $1,000 (where they get you though is charging you for the crinoline slip, the bustle, and the alterations)...but the dress itself was under $1,000. Good luck!

I'm sure your experience was that bad, wasn't doubting you! I was just saying that I don't think David's in general is that bad, if you don't expect too much to begin with. I had a perfectly uneventful dealing with them, and I love my dress, that's all!

Oh I know what you meant, I was just saying it was that bad! When you said about having bad experiences, mine was an understatement. :-) But it was at the Carle Place store which I hear is bad, so maybe I am wrong for generalizing.

My sister used them in 1995 and that is when they first opened up, they were good, when I went there last week, they were so- so, every dresss looks the same and not anyone helping you with the bridal gowns, when my sister remarried 2 years ago, she used Estelles on rt110, she saved a lot of money and tax as well , because it is in Suffolk county. Her dress was beautiful! I am going to use Estelles also, I do not want to spend a lot on a dress I wear for one day also. By the way she is going on her 2 year anniversary and they are very happy together!

My suggestion is to stay away from the Carle Place store. They were so rude and nasty that I walked out before I even finished giving them my info, and I thought it was dirty! I don`t know where you live, but I recommend Commack Wedding Center. I got my gown, bridesmaid dresses, flowergirl dresses and my mothers gown there. They were great.

My sister used David`s Bridal for her BM dresses in Rochester. The service was fantastic- they even let me exchange my dress- through the mail because it was too large. When I was looking at BM dresses, I also went to Davids upstate when I was visiting my sister. I fell in love with a BM gown and decided that was it. I then went to the Carle Place store. What a horror experience. Because I liked the dress and the price was right, I decided to put up with the poor service. I was embarrased to bring my BMs there! There were no privacy curtains on the dressing stalls and people just kept walking in and out. One of my BMs had just had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. The saleswoman was RUDE to her when she said that she would have to have the dress altered to cover her scars. They lost my order not once but twice. when they called me to pick up the order I drove an hour to get the dresses. I get there and they couldn`t find them. I told them there was NO WAY I was leaving the store without them. Somehow, they miraculously appeared. I left that store with the dresses and vow never to return! My girls had them altered elsewhere because they were astonished by the incompetence and blatant rudeness of the sales staff. I did write a complaint letter- which got me no where. My best advice is to run as far away from the store as possible- or order REALLY early so you can track their mistakes. Good luck

No problem with Bay Ridge David's
I was in school in Tampa so I bought my dress in Florida, I had a coupon and loved the dress, it come to like 300. They shipped it to NY for free for me as well. My 7 bridesmaids went to the Brooklyn store for their dresses and they got great service. They made my younger sisters feel great and we got the dresses in 3 weeks. We did not get alterations there, becasue I did not want to press my luck with them, but you can't beat a $90 bridesmaid dress with shawl.

Yes it was her wedding gown! She went to pick it up, they couldn't find it. She asked to speak with the manager, they were very rude to her. A few days later, They found the dress somehow like in the back or something. Not sure of the whole story, but i know she was fuming!!I remember her telling me how rude they were to her.
