David's Bridal

For those of you girls who bought your dress from them, what did you think of the quality? I am almost positive that I found my dress there, and I just worry when the price is so low that maybe it has something to do with the quality. Thanks!

I bought my dress there and I love it. I looked around at a couple places and didn't see much difference in quality. The way I figure it, I am only going to wear the dress for one night, and I absolutely love the one I got. There was no way I was going to spend 2 or 3 thousand on a dress.

I know 2 people who loved there dress just didnt like the alterations.

My one friend had a problem with the bustle. The seamstress didnt make it strong enough to hold the train and she had to wind up carrying her train over her arm all night.

FI's dad's wife same thing, she had a problem with the train and the bustle.

Same as Chippa, I know many people who have gotten dresses there but opted to have their alterations done elsewhere.

I got my dress there - the quality seems to be fine to be. And again, only wearing it for one day, right? I am not getting my alterations done there though, I have my own seamstress who will be doing it for me.

I think the quality is fine. I found my dress the first day I went (first dress I tried on). I tried on dresses at other salons (some even cheaper than my dress) and liked the Davids dress better. I'm not getting it altered there though.

I loved my dress!! It was just what I was looking for. I didnt want to spend $2 or $3K on a dress. The only thing about Davids that I recommend not doing is the alterations. go somewhere else!

I am leary of getting my alterations at a bridal shop due to some bad experiences as a bridesmaid. Can anyone recommend a good seamstress/tailor?

I bought my dress there, and I think the quality of material is poor. But like others, I didn't see a huge difference in quality for the same price range at other places. I can't imagine spending over $1000 for the dress alone, so I never looked at the top designers. Karin Yngvesdotter is doing my alterations www.yngvesdotter.com

Thank you girls! I was feeling the same about not wanting to spend all that money on a dress for one day, and honestly, I found my dress. I don't even want to look further, so this definitely helps!

My MOH bought her dress there & it was beautiful!! She had no problems w/the quality or workmanship & dare I say - the alterations or customer service!! But she did not use the David's on L.I. either.

edited to say 'workmanship' above

My friend got her dress there and is having her fitting right now. Sha has had major problems with them. They keep adding on to the price of the alterations after they tell her there was a cap on her alterations.
