David's Bridal?

David's Bridal?

So I had told myself that I wasn't going dress shopping till the summer. But recently I saw this dress from the White by Vera Wang collection at David's Bridal. I haven't been able to get it out of my mind, and now I'm getting the shopping itch lol!

I had never really planned on going to a David's Bridal. For anyone that went there, are some locations better than others as far as selection or service? Anything I should know before making an appointment? Anyone wearing/have worn a dress from that line? TIA!

Here's the dress:

Beautiful dress!! I have no advice as I never made it to my David's bridal appt bc I found my dress somewhere else 1st I don't think it would hurt to make an appt. I can't tell you anything from personal experience as a bride. I heard that David Bridal dresses come in pretty quickly but not sure if it's the same thing for the Vera Wang line so I would ask. I did have a good experience at the one in Smiththown for my friend wedding. I dont think he hurts to look. I started looking about a year in advance to get an idea. Good luck!!

Re: David's Bridal?

That's probably the most popular wedding gown from david's bridal and vera wang from 2011. I'm sure EVERY david's bridal store has that dress to try on. It supposedly is supposed to be flattering on all types of figures. I tried it on near the smithaven mall. It looked really bad on me. Very scary. Very nice dress though and from what I saw I thought it was well made. Looked great on others.

Have fun!

I personally had a very nice experience at DB in Massapequa. I went on a whim as well one Saturday afternoon, I didn't have an appointment and they were totally fine with it. I got undivided attention from the attendant and didn't feel rushed. The store wasn't busy at all though that day, so I'm sure that helped. I actually wound up finding my dress that day!

I got my dress from the one in Lake Grove. It was a great experience as far as I am concerned, but my advice would be to go on a weekday if possible or early in the morning on the weekend because it does get busy in there and sometimes they have more than one appointment at a time. I want the consultant to pay attention to only me as selfish as that sounds, lol. But as long as you make an appointment it should be ok. Good luck!!!

I actually found my dress at the DB in West Springfield, MA They did not have that dress, but hopefully now that it's later in the season all the stores will have more options to choose from!

That dress is pretty.

Some David's Bridal is better than others.
I went to one and I had an appointment and really got no service at all. It was really crowded too. The lady who I had my appointment with apologize when I left but she was with me for like 5 minutes. She just told me to look in this book to see what I like and left.

I went to another David's Bridal and they were really nice.

I got my dress from the DB in Westbury. I really did not plan on purchasing a dress from DB. I scheduled an appointment at a bridal showcase just because. And I ended up finding my dress. It is part of the White by Vera Wang collection (pics in my album). This was in March and my dress is already in. I am going to pick it up on Saturday. I worked with Brian he was really good to work with. I had a good expereince. I had a big entourage and they were accomadating

If you can't get it out of your mind. I would say at least go and try it on.

I had a similar experience. I would recommend going on a weekday. I went at SUnday at 12 and it was a zoo! It is def a diff experience from the other salons. The bridal attendants work with 2-3 girls so if you go when it is less busy, you will get more attention. I tried on a few cute dresses there but found the ONE elsewhere.

I went to David's Bridal to get a bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding and I got it pretty quickly. Not sure how different it would be since yours will be a wedding gown, but my experience there was ok.

This is true about the edges fraying but that is what all the laser cut edges are like on those types of dresses.
Even the full priced vera wang, lazaro, and moniques that have that type of edging are all frayed in their samples. I was really surprised to see this on even the expensive ones.

I purchased my dress from DB in Massapequa. I went there on a whim and ended up falling in love with my dress. I've had nothing but great experiences at this store. The manager Dishawn knows me by name and is a sweetheart everytime I go there. Also went for my alterations there and had no issues. Might as well give it a try, you never know.
