Do you need an appointment to go browse bridesmaid dresses? (without the bridesmaids, just me and my mom so no trying on yet)
Do they have a good selection of dresses for Moms?

You don't need an appointment but honestly it can be crazy in there if they are busy. As far as selection for Moms its not bad but really depends on your moms taste because my friend's mom ended up getting a dress that was in the bridesmade section and it was beautiful on her!

Browsing is fine you don't need an appt. If you do decide that you want to work with a consultant, I'd make an appt or go during the week when it is less busy. The mob/mog section is decent, but I agree with above post-- many BM dresses work great for moms

I've walked into Davids Bridal 2x without an appt and they got CRANKY. But the time we did have an appt the girl barely even helped us. (This was Lake Grove).
The one time we were just browsing and they gave us a hard time.. even though we weren't looking to try on.

Re: David's Bridal
i just had to go get my BM dress for my brothers wedding and just walked in and they were fine...
word of advise.... stay away from the source mall DB... go to massapequa... or even better, avoid DB alltogether. (worst experience all 3 times I have been there looking for my dresses)

I bought my wedding dress at DB in Lake Grove. Personally, I had an awesome experience. They were all pretty helpful, but then, I prefer that sales people talk to me as little as possible. So maybe I just didn't notice the lack of attention! :D
My mom wasn't crazy about the MOB dress selection at all, she thought it was a little too dated for her I guess.
I've also just walked in and wandered around with one of my bridesmaids on a Monday afternoon and they let us try stuff on.

I will go to Pequa anyway! I know I like Bill Levkoff dresses but I want to see everything and compare. Maybe I'll call first but some evening if they are open late enough I'll stop by! Prob not for a week or two though...

Re: David's Bridal
I would go at night like an hour before they closed and they were always dead. Weekends seemed hectic, but go at night I never had a problem.
