davids bridal alterations

What are the costs approximately?
Is there a cap?

Just curious because my first fitting is soon

I've heard horrible things about their alterations dept and what they've done to other's brides dresses on this site that I decided to go elsewhere!

Where did you decide to go for your alterations? I bought a David's Bridal dress and now am a little nervous about getting it altered there. Although I have heard that since the dress is from there they specialize in it. Help...I don't want my dress ruined.

I'll bump the thread for you that people posted where they are going for their alterations. I'm going to go to Helen's Boutique b/c they did a magnificent job with my BM dresses, so I trust them!

I got my dress at David's Bridal and I am getting it altered by Phyllis at Gownfind.

i had my alteration done at david's and i had no problem. my seamstress was angela

If you go to David's go to Angela. I didn't have her and my dress has been through the ringer. They altered my zipper crooked, they left pins in all around the inside of the dress and then proceeded to steam it and wrap it up all ready to go. Angela was horrified when she found it with pins in it. Then to top it all off they stole the dress bag that I bought from them and put it in a cheesy clear plastic bag. I paid $240 for my alterations and I bitched so much at my last fitting that they refunded me $65. The only reason I didn't go elsewhere was other places told me they wouldn't alter a dress that you didn't buy from them.

Needless to say David's Bridal's alteration dept. (other than Angela who is wonderful), is horrific.

One of my girlfriends got her dress there and had her alterations done by them with no problem-though the alterations were a little pricey compared to what she thought they would be (her dress cost $300 and the alterations were the same).
