Did anyone actually use them? My mom thinks its best to use them, because if they screw up, then they're responsible (aka, they could always give me the sample dress if the ruin my dress).
I've heard not to use them, but never any reason WHY?
So, why didn't you use them? Or if you did, how did it go?
TIA!!!

Re: David's Bridal Alterations??
run a search through all the boards using the key words 'David's/Davids Bridal' and 'David's/Davids Bridal Alterations' - you'll get a slew of threads containing info on this.
One girl had her dress ripped all the way down on on side....and it also has to do with vibes, which didn't sit well with many girls, and one of the main reasons I took my dress to Phyllis at Bridal Elegance. Phyllis was phenomenal!

Re: David's Bridal Alterations??
I bought my dress at Davids but had it altered by Phyllis. My cousin got hers altered from David's, spent a lot more money on the alterations and was a little more hassled with her alterations

This is what I did also...but I thought it was a tough descision. I also felt like if they ruined it at least they could replace it, but I was happy with my descision in the end

Phyllis is located at Bridal Elegance (LIW vendor) on Jericho Turnpike in Dix Hills/Northport area.

Thank you!! Do you know how long in advance you need to schedule alterations before you need to go for them? My dress isn't coming in until December for my March wedding!

I got married in Sept, and called Phyllis in late May and we scheduled my first fitting in mid-June. The second fitting was scheduled in mid-to late August.

It depends on what bustle you choose. Mine costs $100 (bustle and a little alterations to the side and top of dress - no hem needed).

Re: David's Bridal Alterations??
I've heard Phylis won't do alterations anymore unless you order your dress from her...
Does anyone have a different seamstress suggestion?

Re: David's Bridal Alterations??
I heard they are so expensive. But they will replace anything the screw up so I dont know. I'm going to take my dress back for the alts. I only need to have it made shorter and I want to see if they can sew cups inside my dress so I dont have to wear one of those uncomfortable corset bras (or whatever they're called)
