Anybody have experience with david's bridal and their alterations. my dress is in. the wedding isn't til nov but not sure when to schedule my appoint? thanks ladies.

Hi date twin!! I also got my dress at David's, but I have heard not-so-good things about their alterations from a lot of people (I think it's just very, very busy and they might not always be as careful as they should be). I'm sure it would work out fine if you found a seamstress there that you felt comfortable with, but I opted to use a private seamstress instead. I'm planning to have my first fitting sometime in August.
P.S. I had a good experience buying my dress at David's, but how much does it **** that they don't store dresses there??

We ordered the BM dresses there and one arrived damaged (fabric was crushed, ink stain, open seam) so we decided to leave the dress there to be altered before accepting it. When we returned to pick-up the gown, over 2 weeks later, it still wasn't done and we had to wait an hour in the store to have the job done.
David's has beautiful gowns, but there is so much turnover with the staff and so many brides/ BMs in there that they seem to lack in customer service. Also, they don't put a $ cap on alterations, so be careful.

thanks ladies! Now i would need to find a seamstress. It just made me nervous because it's a big place. Lotsa people. Purchasing the dress..........no problem. Although when we asked to see it when we went to pick it up the lady just left it uncovered behind the counter. (already paid for). that got me a little steamed but lt looked new and great. Anyone know a REALLY GOOD seamstress. thanks ladies

i had my alterations there. they had to take in the waist since i lost weight. the alterations came out great. ask for angela
