Haha, after going to David's Bridal to do the alterations, my advice - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! They were completely awful, I had to go back three times, the bustle was done incorrectly, the hem wasn't 'finished' (there were strings and beads hanging down everywhere).

I got mine done there but it was only the bustle and fixing the cut of the bottom that was not straight (the dress came like that). Everything came out fine

I went somewhere else.... wasnt going to deal with trying to get my dress altered there. I have a good seamstress in Whitestone, FM me if you want more info.

Re: Davids Bridal alterations
i would go somewhere else. i just wore a BM dress from there, and i needed it hemmed, and David's wanted to charge 75 for that. I went to a local dry cleaners and they charged me 20.
i got my wedding gown altered by a local seamstress, not a 'wedding store' and it turned out completely fine.

Re: Davids Bridal alterations
RUN SOMEPLACE ELSE! I went to David's and asked them about putting a sleeve on a dress. I asked about ordering extra fabric so the sleeves could match the dress (seems obvious). The saleswoman looked at me like I was speaking in tongues, and she said that they don't do that, because they have sleeves 'in the back'.
She promptly took me to the back of the store and came back with a handful of sleeves made of netting with snaps, and said they would be snapped onto the dress.
These were long sleeves. They were not small caps where perhaps the snap wouldn't be noticed.
I don't know how advanced they are in the field of alterations.

Re: Davids Bridal alterations
I got my bridesmaid dress there but got alterations done at my local dry cleaner for 1/3 of what Davids Bridal was asking. This is a dress I'd never wear again (which is usually the case for bridesmaid dresses) so didn't want to spend more than I had to.

I'm not getting my dresses at all from Davids...rather Alfred Angelo...but I'm still having all my girls go to a local dry cleaners...simple as that...

Re: Davids Bridal alterations
I don't have much experience with David's Bridal, but my best friend got her dress here for prom.
During the alterations, they Ironed the sequence and they melted into the dress. The worst experience, she complained and they refused to do anything about it. She had to pay for a messed up dress.
