David's Bridal Disaster (sorry long story)

Hey girls,

You will not believe what happened to me today. I wanted to die. Me and FMIL went to David's bridal in Carle place ( i think) in the source mall. Well, long story short. We are browsing thru a ton of dressed in the catalog and I found 4 that I really liked and wanted to try on. Well, I found this one in particular by Oleg Cassani
How freaken horrible they did nothing to accomodate me at all. Other than give ******** excuses. After I fell in love with my dress and for all this time that it would be no problem to get it.

Sorry it's so long I had to vent about my horrible experience.

:(

OMG, I'm so sorry about this!!!! Can you go to another David's Bridal and tell them the situation to see what they can do? Ask them for the corporate number to see if you can call directly to ask if ANYONE anywhere still has it or if they can make it????

I had a similar thing happen to me. I fell in love with a dress and we ordered it. A month went by and they told it was discontinued and they couldn't get me any dress. I told them I wanted to the sample they said they would hold it and went I went to get it they sold it that morning. Needless to say I didn't go back.

I heard David's bridal was no good.. and not to even waste my time by going there, is that true?? however by reading this forum it makes me even more hesitant to even go there.

I bought my gown at that David's (Carle Place)....you're right, they are NOT customer service oriented there. I have, however, had great experiences with the David's in CT, which is where I live. Everytime I've gone tehre, they have been wonderful. Their seamstress Katia is fantastic and even sewed beads onto my entire gown when the NY store wouldn't agree to do it. They really are awesome and they may be able to help you. I would give them a call (just have the style number ready) and see what they can do. The store is in Orange, CT
112-118 Boston Post Rd.
Orange, CT 06477
Phone: (203) 891-8300

Good luck!

Otherwise, Elena's Bridal was a great place

The David's in Lake Grove is newer and much more organized, IMO. I would talk to someone there and see if there is anything they can do. Which Oleg dress is it? I know there's an '07 bride trying to sell an Oleg dress that she didn't wear, and I believe it was ivory.

Sorry to hear about your experience.
At this point, look for a dress similar to the Oleg dress. Does not sound like you will be able to get that dress if it is being discontinued.

Or, you can always find a seamstress to make a copy of the dress. The garment district in Manhattan has a section that is all bridal related and you should be able to find a seamstress there.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the one on lake grove is more organized, they were pretty 'all over the place' when I went there. You could definitely try them, though, to see if they have your dress. The people seemed nice enough...

As for people hating david's bridal, i thought it was nice to go there and just try a million things on, kinda looking to see what I liked and didn't like. I don't think i would buy something there, but it wasn't bad to check out...

I am so sorry to hear about that. I do agree with cookie monster. I went to David's Bridal near Smith Haven Mall just to look. The girls there wanted to help others out. I would stop there just to see if they have the dress that you love and or if they could order it.

Yep, def. don't care about customer service there. You are treated like cattle! I did get my dress there, but am not getting my alterations done there.

Sorry to hear about what happened. That really stinks

David's in general gets F grades from reviewers. HORRIBLE CS. I ordered my BM dress from there for my best friend's wedding in JNAUARY! It comes tight in and I say ok. Will go clsoer to this month to get it fitted. Well I go by and guess what? Not there anymhore! They suffered water damge during that big storm that rocked NJ a few weeks ago. So they clsoed down and damaged eveything out. Totally understandable BUT!!!!!
*** happens to everyone who ordered there? I had to call corporate and they had to ordeer a brand new dress for me. Um what if I ahdn't come in till Auguest to pick it up? (wedding is in August.) Just lousy customer service all round.

WOW! I am so sorry -- I think we all know how frustrating, long and tiresome picking and buying a dress can be. I am so sorry!!

if you know what size you need, search ebay for it. you might be able to find a new gown there..... Stinks that they only had samples and couldn't help you out....

Have you tried calling the corporate office? I would call and explain the situation and see if they can get it from another store or get it from the manufacturer themselves. If not, maybe they can give you some kind of comp. Seriously, try, because thats what I ahd to do about my dress and they said they would track down a new one and send it to another store closer to me for my convenience. It's worth a shot.

Honestly stay away from that place.. you will find a better dress somewhere else and not have to deal with all the nonsense..
