Re: Davids bridal questions

Usually about 2 months before hand. It all depends on how much work there is and how detailed it is, so it could be about 3 months before. The seamstress is going to want your shape/size as close to the wedding as possible, this way it'll fit you properly on your day.

But do you take the dress home and then bring it back in?

With David's bridal, yes. They *might* hold it for you, but most likely you'll have to take it home and then bring it back for alterations.

I used to work at DB, depending on if the dress comes from a warehouse or another store it could arrive in 6 weeks or less. They DO NOT hold it, they give you two weeks to pick it up. I think you must have misunderstood when they want you to get alterations. Usually at DB your first fitting is 2-3 months before.

Yes you take your dress home and bring it back at David's Bridal. My bridal party got their dresses here, my sister already picked hers up. My FHs' sisters' dress came in within 6 days and has her 2 daughters also in the party, they are holding hers until all 3 come in but that is really, really rare.
