I was just on the David's Bridal website and saw they now have a store in Lake Grove. I'm curious to see what the opinion is of the new store - I know not too many girls here liked the one in Westbury. Anyone had an experience with them yet?

Re: David's in Lake Grove?
In general Im not a fan of David's Bridal, no matter what store it is. Im not fond of so many of their policies and Im glad I didnt like the dress that I tried on there.

I ordered my dress from there and I'm also getting my bm's dresses there as well. I only had one bad experience (if you want to call it that). I ordered my dress and they told me it was going to come in June 18th, well it came in not even 2 weeks after I ordered it and the receptionist got me all nervous when she said the size of the dress and I told her no that's not the size and she was like oh then we have a problem here. Everything ended up turning out just fine, thank god . All in all everyone is very friendly and hepfull there.

Everyone's experiences are different, so even though David's can have a tendency to be a little lacking on the customer service, if you like some of their dresses I'd recommend that you go and see for yourself what you think. Some of the dresses are beautiful and the prices are good. I will say that the designer ones (aka, Oleg Cassini, Galina, Monique Luo - not David's Bridal brand) are better made and I think they're worth the extra money, especially since they are always running some kind of sale where you get some money off. They have a wide variety of BM dresses too, and if you get your dress there you can get a discount on those (my girls' dresses were all less than $100!). The customer service issue tends to be worst when they are most crowded, so I'd recommend going on a weekday evening or right when they open on a weekend to get the most individual attention. If you don't like the person they give you, ask for another consultant. I did this and ended up with someone wonderful. Good luck!

I stopped by the new one. I did not purchase anything but I would say go there in the begining of the week early in the day they say it is not crowded then. I hope that I helped you out a little.

I went there a few months ago. They had lots of dresses, but I felt rushed by the employees. They basically did not listen to the style I was looking for and rushed me out after 4 dresses, despite me having an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks! I have used Davids for BM dresses in other weddings I was in upstate and was very satisified wtih the services al in all.

I was there a few weeks ago to get dresses with my girls. they were pretty nice there. only annoying thing was only one girl was at checkout. we had to sit there for 20 mins while some other girl complained about whatever her problem was with her dress. finally someone noticed us sitting around and checked us out. besides that much better than westbury.
the dress even came in early there.

Re: David's in Lake Grove?
i went to david's in lake grove. I was overall satisfied with the service. I ended up purchasing my gown there but ordered a size bigger and got a brand spanking new dress. The dress arrived in @ 2 weeks. While i was trying on dresses, i also looked at a veil headpiece and shoes, all of which were purchased. One girl who was helping me, made me walk around in the dress and shoes for like a half hour. She said that she didn't want me to puchase something i was uncomfortable in. That was a good thing. The only thing i have yet to do is get the dress altered, however i'm a little nervous b/c of the stories i've read. Other than that I was very satisfied.

I ordered my dress from them and had a great experience. We went on Saturday morning at 10am when they opened and we were like the only people in there. They ordered my dress and it was supposed to be in in like 2 months but it came in within 1 week. I have no complaints about them I thought they were great, the women who helped me would help me put on the dress then when I ran out of dresses to try on she let me go get what I wanted off the shelf, overall I had a great experience there and would recommend them to everyone!!

Re: David's in Lake Grove?
I had an absolutly AWFUL experience there!!!!! They ordered a dress 4 SIZES too SMALL for me even after i checked to make sure the correct size was in the computer, they messed up 3 of my bridesmaids shoes. Charged 70 dollars to hem a dress 1 inch and yelled at my mother-in-law!!!!! The service is so terrible, you are rushed and treated like you don't even count. I would definitly suggest going to a store paying a bit more and being treated like you matter!!!!!

I found the lady to be rude and she seemed like she was rushing me. I really wouldn't want to go back their unless last option.

Re: David's in Lake Grove?
I went there for my flower girl dresses. Very good selection. Very easy decision process because of that but we definitely didn't get much attention from the sales people at all. Only toward the end when we were about to go to the counter to pay did one of the young ladies come to us - also because my flower girls are so cute!!
They told us the dresses would be in in early July. They were ready to be picked up with in 2 weeks - a month earlier than they predicted! I'd try them again for bridesmaid dresses and/or mob dresses. If for nothing else, you will at least have a selection to go through and have a good idea of what you can work with. Good luck!

I had the same experience. They kept on leaving and saying, sorry i need to help another bride. I had an appointment and everything yet they were not willing to help.
We did everything ourselves and left the store not to go back.
I think it's really pot luck, I would definetely buy a dress there but wouldn't get it altered. I've mostly heard horror stories about that.
