i want to see it but as a Catholic it's gonna be hard to stomach. i didn't read the book because i have pretty strong beliefs but i have to admit that i'm intrigued by how much hype it's getting. i'll watch with an open mind...

I LOVED the book....it was intellectually stimulating and totally clicked with me.

I always knew that the crap they were teaching me in Catholic school was BS and stories like this make me feel better for not believing in any of the male-dominated egocentric Catholic rules!!!!

That being said....Im worried Im not gonna like Tom Hanks in the role

OMG..You just became my new best friend. I get so frustrated when people who have never read the book and know nothing about it refuse to see the movie. It's not trying to change your views, but just adds to the story. Besides it is fiction. Thank you for giving it a chance.

I haven't seen it yet, but I don't like who they choose for Langdon, the Monk, and Teabing.

I could change my mind after Friday.

In 1969, the Catholic church took back that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. They said they lied and made it up to benefit the church. Of course, they buried this info in the pages of a memo/manuscript and the public still believes the lies. I've told several serious Catholics this, but the refuse to believe me. Look it up, it's the truth. If they lied about that, it makes you think, what else did they lie about?

That's why I love the Da Vinci Code. I think it makes some people in the church upset, because parts of it are true. Not all, but parts. The church has lied to us, it's a fact. This isn't the first time these theories have been suggested, it just first time the majority of the public is taking notice and the church is worried the public will discover they have been lied to, when they get curious about what really happened. However, I believe the Da Vinci Code can only reinforce your faith, you'll want to know more about Jesus. A lot of officals in the church have thanked Dan Brown because they believe that too. They have witnessed it.

BTW...It is also suggested (not in the Da Vinci Code, but in religious research) that Jesus was Mediterranean. And Mary Magdalene was a black African. Also, ( for those who know who Sarah is) in many areas of France today they still worshipped and celebrate a black girl named Sarah who arrived in France with Mary Magdalene. Just some food for thought.

The book is fiction plain and simple. It has not been proven otherwise. Of course the book & movie will attract anti-Catholics, because it is anti-Catholic.

I've been waiting 2 years for this movie to come out!

DH are going to see it this weekend. We're leaving on vacation next weekend and then with other obligations throughout the month, this is the only free weekend we have to see it.

I'm also thinking I won't like Tom Hanks in this role, but we'll see.
