If you know the date will be in the area just for the wedding, it is a courtesy to invite them (otherwise the date is just going to have to sit in the hotel room and wait for the guest?)
Some people may choose not to bring their dates. A wedding I was in recently in NJ, if FH was going to come to the rehearsal dinner he would have to take off on Friday, he didn't want to, so he just attended the wedding/reception.

I say invite dates because you invite them with dates to the wedding and this is wedding related right? Esepcially if people are from out of town, then dates are a must!

I think it's the right thing to do to include a date and I'm sure you Bridal party will be happy you did. I just went to a wedding were the bride never invited anyone with a guest and it didn't go over well.

We are inviting our bridal party's significant other to the RD and anyone who is staying at the hotel is invited to our morning after brunch.

Re: day after brunch/rehearsal dinner. date or no date?
for the RD, we invited everyone with a date. If the guests are from out of town, they yes, they have to be invited. If they are local, then it is your call. Usually, if the person is in a long standing relationship with somone, then the significant other gets invited.
For the brunch the day after, I would say that everyone should be invited with a date because they usually bring the person they went to the wedding with.
