Day After Pictures

Hi, what are day after pictures? Do you get dressed up again and take more pictures? If yes, why?

well first just so you know, it doesn't mean its the day right after your wedding...usually anywhere a year after your wedding.

People get it for different reasons, main ones are:

They didn't like the pictures their photographer took, so they hire another photographer to do a day after shoot, yes they get dressed up again so this way the couple can have pics together

another reason is that with all the craziness that day, the couple realize they don't have enough pics together, or not alot of good ones so thats why

Yes, you get all dressed up again! Alot of brides do it after because they're more relaxed (aka less emotional!) and can go to a location that they weren't able to get to on their wedding day. Some brides also book a photographer that was unavailable for their day or out of their budget.

And its not LITERALLY the day after! My FH and I are doing day after shots and when we told my MOH, she gave us the most insane look because she thought they were the day right after our wedding.

Yes, you get all dressed up again and take pics of just the 2 of you

Pros:
your relaxed ,not rushed, can travel to different locals, get a second chance to get some pics you may have missed, get to wear the dress again.

Cons:
a pain to go through all the trouble

Yes, you get all dressed up again! Alot of brides do it after because they're more relaxed (aka less emotional!) and can go to a location that they weren't able to get to on their wedding day. Some brides also book a photographer that was unavailable for their day or out of their budget.

And its not LITERALLY the day after! My FH and I are doing day after shots and when we told my MOH, she gave us the most insane look because she thought they were the day right after our wedding.

Other reasons include rain on your wedding day. Also, I was willing to do poses (like laying on the ground) that I wouldn't have done on my wedding day, and some brides do a completely different hair style, like they had an elegant updo on their wedding day but do day after pics with their hair down.

We did them for several reasons, our original photographer took cr@ppy shots, it rained on our day, and we wanted them at a park and we didn't have enough time on the day of our wedding to do it.

Yeah, the main reason for me would be that you don't want to get the dress dirty by rolling around the ground or climbing on trees or rocks. So afterwards, it doesn't really matter. Also, there is never enough time the day of it seems, to take pictures, so it's nice to have additional time. Plus, even if you liked your photographer, it's not a bad idea to get a different eye to do some photos.

Personally, we loved our photos and we didn't need hundreds of photos of ourselves, so we didn't want to do it, but we did talk about it. The most important photos from our wedding are of our family.

I am doing a day after shoot on my one year anniversary with the same photographer.

I am doing it because I was so nervous that day that I looked like a scared doe in many of the pictures.

Also, we only took together pictures for about 30 minutes during the cocktail hour, so we only have two pictures together that I like.

However, the main reason I am doing the day after shoot is because I HATED how I looked in my dress and I want to get done up again and I guess 'justify' all the time and money spent on the day.
