I am trying to figure out my timeline for the day of and I am getting confused and need some help. When the photographer takes 'getting ready' pics, are the makeup and hairstylists done with everyone? Do those vendors need to be there for any reason? I know this sounds ridiculous, but what types of pics do photographers take for getting ready? I just want to make sure I leave enough time for everything! TIA

Re: Day of?
The only 'getting ready' photos that I had taken were of me getting dressed. The photographer did not take photos of me getting my makeup or hair done.

Re: Day of?
I was very confused by this time line too and I'm a planner so I finally gave in and let it be what it was... we knew that the photographer was coming at said time for the 'getting ready photos' well we were running behind... even though we were at the ceremony/ RH we weren't ready... and since for some reason MIL went to her hair first when I should have been I just sat down to start makeup when the photographer came. So I do have pictures of me getting my makeup done. I had my girls take photos during the hair process for me as they were mostly done since they were simple.
The photographers then took the guy's getting ready and started the guy photos out side...etc. then the 2nd one did the girls getting ready- helping me get ready... I think one of the photographers then took the girls and the guys the other took portraits of me ...etc (once i was ready)
and we went from there... since we did a special reveal and then the majority of the photos before hand so we didn't lose the full cocktail hour or dinner time.

It really is what you want them to take pictures of - once they get there in theory they shoot unless you tell them not to.

Photographer was there when i was getting hair and make up done and she took pics of me getting it done, i have pics in my album. Then she took pics of me after i had it done but before i got dressed, just face on shots mostly. Then also when i was getting dressed. She showed up around 11:45am and we left my house around 2pm

My makeup and hair ppl came at 5 AM and were still working (finishing up) when my photog arrived at around 7:15. So my photog got a couple pics of all of us with our hair and makeup done. Getting ready photos will usually be of your dress on a hanger or on your bed; your shoes; your invite (lay it out, and anything else you want a pro photo of, beforehand so s/he knows to take it) your DOJ your rings if you have them there you in your dress and makeup (various photos) your flowers you and your BP and whoever is getting ready with you (various poses of you and your MOH, BP etc) any other photo you want that day
My suggestion is to make a must-take photo list and give a copy to every photog and assistant that day. That way nothing will be left out Also keep one copy for yourself so you can make sure they took those photos. There are a lot of threads with must-take photo lists on BHB board
