Day of Coordinator??

Day of Coordinator??

Hi Ladies!

First, I want to say hello! I am new to nycityweddings and this is my first post!

Now my question - Do you think it's worth it to have a day of coordinator? I am not having a particularly big wedding (about 120 guests), but I am not having a bridal party, MOH or best man (our moms are going to be our witnesses). Do you think having someone there that day to take care of the details is worth it or a waste of $$?

Thanks!!!

I am not having one, but I think I'm going to ask my sister to play the role. She's very good with details and not afraid to speak up if something needs to said!

Congratulations on your engagement. Happy planning!

Re: Day of Coordinator??

My sister got married at Terrace on the Park 3 years ago, and she opted not to have a coordinator. Terrace on the Park provided a bridal attendent, and I remember her being very helpful.

She had a couple of hitches along the way (we all will!) but overall was pretty happy with the level of service.

The bridal attendent and some other staff members even helped to pack up the car with gifts at the end of the night.

I had a wedding about the same size as yours and I was so happy I found my coordinator (Elaine Deluca). She saved me so much aggravation on the day of the wedding.

Terrace on the Park can be really crazy. Lots of events going on at the same time. With a Wedding Day Coordinator they can make sure that everything goes according to plan. My wedding will be bigger, but the Swan Club also does more than one wedding at a time and I am very happy that I hired one.

Good Luck!!!

How much do day of coordinators usually charge?

And what do they include in their services? How long, etc?

I've heard a lot about these day-of coordinators. How much do they typically cost?

Laura from LA Productions was our Day of Coordinator. Best decision we made having her as our Day of Coordinator.

I second Elaine. She's been such a help so far! It's such a relief (even before the big day) to know that I'm not going to have to worry about little problems that can turn into big headaches--like tipping vendors, making sure vendors are fulfilling their contractual obligations, etc. Here's her site--it has all the info on exactly what she does: Elaine

I worked with Elaine as well. And she truly was a lifesaver the day of the wedding, plus she is so easy to get along with!

Re: Day of Coordinator??

I personally would not go with Elaine DeLuca...I met with her and thought she was completely unprofessional. She wore khaki pants with the bottoms rolled up b/c they were too long. Plus, her hair was pulled up in a scrunchie!! Not that there is anything wrong with a scrunchie, but at a meeting, it isn't very professional. I guess most importantly, she insulted my mother, saying she wasn't sure how she was going to be able to deal with her b/c they are from such different backgrounds. We are from the South and she is from Brooklyn.
Good Luck, and again this is just MHO!

I've been communicating w/ Rosalie from Expressions (vendor) and so far shes been great and her prices are very reasonable. If all goes well, I am planning to hire her as my DOC.

I am using Elaine too --I was a little concerned when I met her --she seemed a bit all over the place but everyone raves about her --so I booked her...
