Is anybody using a day-of coordinator? I need one. If you could direct me to a reputable person I'd be soooo greatful!

Why do u need a 'day of Coordinator'? What exactly do you mean? I have read your history and though that everything was ok now! Your new manager should help you with coordinating and helping you with your details. Stay calm, you are worring too much.

Re: day of coordinator

Hello,
We had a day of coordinator that we were going to hire and in our mind we already had b/c she was 'saving the date for us', we went to the consultation a few weeks ago, but we hadn't signed a contract. She called to tell us that the another event that day was going to demand that she come earlier and she'd have to pass on our affair and so we were out of luck...She recommended someone else, but I don't know anything about her and she works from home-it's not a formal business. We're going to hire her, or someone, by the end of the week but are looking for recommendations so we can pick the best person.

Also, the day of coordinator doesn't just do the day of. They will walk through the site with you and the event mgr. at the site to make sure you asked all the 'right questions', contact vendors in the weeks before to make sure everything you've agreed upon is set and mostly-if you are very busy-take a load off your mind and your schedule for the weeks prior to the event.

We still want a day of coordinator because-
1) the woman we planned to hire sold us on the idea.
2) family and friends, as well as most bp members, are coming from out of state-making sure that we're spending time with them and that someone else is taking care of double checking the details.
3) an extra pair of hands never hurts:) Many of the brides on the board have used wedding day coordinators and were very happy to have them!
4) I'm in school and I'm extremely busy and will be right up to the wedding
6) They also act as the 'professional' representative for you. If you don't want to have to think about the business end of it, which is the least romantic part, they can take care of it for you.
7) Most important reason-once you get burned by a vendor, even if the owner/mgr./etc. takes care of it, you want to ensure it doesn't happen again....even if you are totally happy. Also, if vendors don't return faxes/phone calls, etc...you don't want to have to deal with it or even know about it- it's too time consuming (although this shouldn't happen in the first place).

P.S.,
Why were you reading my old posts? This is your first post, just curious....
And you must be a new bride---NOBODY ever tells us on this board that we are worrying too much !

Re: day of coordinator

MPC,

If you read what she has been going through with her site, you might be able to understand why she wants to hire a coordinator. It is her wedding it is her right!

A bride can NEVER worry too much about her wedding day. I too also find it suspicious that this is your first and only post.

Having had my own problems with my wedding I TOTALLY agree with her and if I could afford it I would also.
