I personally thought it was a waste of money and only booked my DOC 2 months before our wedding because I started getting nervous about my mother worrying too much on the day of...the whole time DH was adamant about NOT having one.
In the end, my DOC was amazing. A number of things went wrong at our venue and the DOC fixed them quickly, sometimes before I even knew what happened. She was also helpful for things that didn't go wrong, but was just another pair of hands to make sure everything ran smoothly.
BTW, I used Chrissi from Fairytale Events.

Re: Day of Coordinator
I didn't think I'd need one but I love mine. Her services (up to the month of the wedding) were free through my venue and she's been nothing but helpful! She'll also be our DOC and I've heard great things from girls who've used her in that capacity. Like stated above, I want her to be the go to person for any problems or drama...not me or my mom.

Re: Day of Coordinator
Its worth it for me.. DOC = Mom & me NOT fighting all day lol
I don't want to be bothered with problems on my wedding day... at my engagement party there was formal seating.. and who do you think had to deal with people bringing a guest when they didnt respond with one, or if there were not enough seats at a table.. or if my cousins didn't like where they were sitting.. oh yea me haha.. not dealing with that, the $$ is worth not having to hear those things

Re: Day of Coordinator
I'm considering it, depending on the pricetag. I have no sort of management at my venue and I'm doing everything myself/bringing everything in...and if I don't have someone running the show, it will be me stressing the eff out. I'm definitely thinking it might be worth it.
If you are having your wedding at a catering hall or similar, it might not be worth it unless you have a lot of moving parts. Really a personal preference.

Re: Day of Coordinator
I'm not gonna lie- I haven't gotten married yet but already I feel like I can't live without my DOC. She's a godsend. I feel so much better knowing she'll be with us on our wedding day ensuring it goes smoothly.

Thanks for this rec. I contacted her today and she replied very quickly. I think I am going to make a point of it to make room in my budget for her!
Did you just use her on the day of? I'm trying to figure out how long I'd need her.

Re: Day of Coordinator
I new i needed one from the begining. I want to make sure the hall is set up exactly how i want it and I dont want to have to worry about it. I also dont want to impose on any of my family to deal with that. I want them to come and guests and have a good time. Its more for piece of mind.
Although i have hired her only for the day of she has been great since i booked with her. She has been available via email and phone anytime i need her.
Cynthia Ross of Cynthia Ross Affairs. She is a vendor on here.

I didn't need one. DH & I planned everything together.
But I did work with Gina from Bleu Diamond b.c I won my cry packs at TWOTY. She was super!!!!!!! I highly recommend her and I know Lauren (Mrsdrinkh2O) used her and loved her.

Re: Day of Coordinator
Yea - I definitely don't want/need anyone to help me plan anything. I'm so excited to execute all of my details and ideas with my FH and BP and I'm too much of a control freak and perfectionist to let a stranger try and tell me their ideas, no matter how well-intentioned!
I just am thinking I'll need someone to coordinate the day of, since my venue is so 'hands-on' and there are no banquet managers, bridal assistants, etc etc. It's the thing that has been stressing me out daily, and the wedding is more than a year away. I can't imagine how stressed I would be the week/day of if I didn't know an expert was there overseeing everything at least for the first few hours.

Re: Day of Coordinator
I used Chrissi too for our wedding and she was amazing. My mom can't stop raving about her and how she was everywhere and doing everything the whole day. Most definitely money well spent. Fell free to FM me if you have any questions!

Re: Day of Coordinator
YES!!!!!!
I used Francesca from Dazzling Affairs and I can't even begin to tell you how amazing she was. We only booked her for half a day (7 hours). Looking back, I wish we did a full day because she was worth EVERY penny. She kept the wedding running smoothly. There was a problem with limo and instead of coming to tell me about the problem- she came to tell me the solution. I didnt have to worry about a single thing all day!
