Day of Wedding..Do I have enough time for everything?!?!

Helpppppp!!

Ok, I picked my church because its beautiful and I absolutely loved it. The problem is that they had 3:00 only. Now, my cocktail hr starts at 7:30 in Smithtown and I am in queens (1 hr away) I am not going anywhere for pictures. We were going to do all pictures at the Watermill because the grounds are gorgeous. Do I have enough time for pictures?!??

or should I look into another church close by that offers at 1pm ceremony??

I think you will have more than enough time. How long is your ceremony?

That's a long commute for both you and your guests... unless you have a strong connection to the church in Queens, I might want to look closer to the reception just for that reason.

What day of the week? If it's a Friday there will be rush hour traffic. If it's a Saturday, not so bad. I think due to the fact you are already nervous about it, you will be worried about it the day of your wedding. If you are thinking twice about it, I would find a local church this way less of a commute for you and your guests. Also, are you getting two limo's (one for groom and groomsmen and another for bride and bridesmaids?) You WILL need two if neither one of you will be getting ready near the church.

My best advice is to find a closer church this way you KNOW everything will run smoothly and there will be no rushing around or worrying.

Good luck :)

As long as it's not a holiday weekend or on a weekday (rush hour) you should be fine.

I would look into another church. Honestly, if I got an invitation for a church in Queens and a reception in Smithtown, unless it was like a close family member, theres no way i would go to the church. Unless you have strong ties to that church, I would book somewhere else.

It sounds to me that you will have plenty of time for pictures. If you're leaving the church at 4pm and should arrive at the RH by 5, that leaves you with 2.5 hours for photos which should be pelnty of time.

I'm in the same boat as you but have less time. Our church is in Brooklyn and reception on LI, and we only currently have a little over an hour for pics, but my photographer said not to worry he will make it work.

I live in Howard Beach so the only two churches I would use are in Ozone Park. I dont expect a lot of people to come to the church. I dont want to use a strange church near the venue that I dont know. I just got a call back from the church. They agreed to push it to 230 but they said no guarantee the wedding before me will be over. I think it will be though

Like the other ladies have said, unless you have strong ties to your church I would try to pick another church that was closer. That is a long travel for your guests as well as for you. You have to take into consideration there may be traffic or delays. You dont want to rush your pix.

You should have plenty of time. I am having a 10am wedding in Bayside and our reception is at 1 pm in Smithtown. I triple checked to make sure we would be okay with timing. The photographer said as long as everyone cooperates we should be done in about 45 minutes.

If you love the church then don't change it. I would say 1 hour and 15 minutes to get from Queens to Smithtown. Maybe you can take some pictures before the church so that most are out of the way (and you are more relaxed). What does the photographer think? They would know best. It's better to take more pics beforehand than to change a church you picked specifically because you love the look of it.
