Do you guys actually take a day off to attend a Friday wedding (presuming ceremony is during work hours)?

Re: day off?
Depends who was getting married and my flexibility with work. I would for close family and close friends. Otherwise, probably not. If you're having a friday wedding I would assume you would understand that a lot of people wouldn't be able to make the ceremony (JMO).

Depends on who is getting married - if it a close person to me - I would definately take off - if it is someone not so close I would go to the reception...

Usually, I try to leave early so that I can attend the service. Unfortunately, work isnt always as flexible.

Re: day off?
Depends on how close the person is and how many vacation days I have available at that point.
Last year we had a wedding on the Fri of Labor Day weekend and it worked out that I didn't have to take time off work because we got off early that day and the church was at 5pm.

Re: day off?
My friend from high school recently got married at 4 on a Friday.. in Jersey. So I took the day off for her wedding. Personally I think it is asking a lot of people to have a wedding during a work day and work hours, but what can you do???

Re: day off?
I am getting married on a Friday and I really don't expect a lot of people other than my immediate family and close relatives. If others can get off of work though, that would be great, but I'm not expecting them to.

Re: day off?
Same with me, I'm getting married on a Friday. I understand that a lot of people won't be able to make the ceremony. For me I would probably take off to go for a friend or family member. It does make me a little sad not everyone will be able to share in the ceremony but had to have it on a friday what can you do

Re: day off?
I think it really depends how much notice you give people and their individual flexibility....and of course to not take it personally if people can't make it...Iike most of you I try to take the day off or half day if it's someone close :) I can't be too upset my wedding is on a thursday after a holiday!!! but surprisingly a lot of people because they know now have already put in for the time off, so we are lucky! JMO
