Day Trips

Does anyone have any good ideas/place for a day trip somewhere?
FH and I haven't had a day alone to ourselves in a VERY long time. I think we both need one badly

North Fork of LI - wineries, antiques, cute shops / restaurants

Cold Spring, NY - very cute downtown area, shops, restaurants

Mystic, CT

Stamford, CT

Delaware River - NY/PA border. MIlford is one town, Matamoras is another. Milford has a few good restaurants, cute little town. In Matamoras and the nearby area, you can rent a kayak / canoe / raft and take a trip down the river - good co. is Kittatinny Canoes.

I am the queen of day / weekend trips!!!

How about the wineries in LI?

We just recently took the LI ferry to Mohegan for the day..it was fun!

Last week we went to the Museum of Natural History - On Saturday we went to see young frankenstein on broadway - How about the Statue of liberty - the opposite would be lunch and sa winery or two out east - horseback riding, hiking, bicycling at a sttae park so you have trails - a simple lunch in Port jeff Village or Northport

the museum is my favoritest place!!! Good thinking, we should do things in the city afterwards
