I just booked my wedding at Chateau La Mer. The ceremony starts at 11:30. I always wanted a night wedding but the price difference ($25 less pp for a day wedding) is crazy. I'm just worried that people won't let loose and have as much fun. The night weddings I have been to always seemed to be a better time. I also thought night is more romantic, What do you all think? I know I can't change it now but just need some feedback/reassurance. Thanks

Re: Day vs night Wedding?
what time does the actual reception start?
i dont think it will be a problem...a wedding is a wedding; people are gonna let loose no matter what time the wedding is.

my sister had a day wedding and it was just as fun as any night weddings i have been too...everyone was up dancing and drinking plenty. We also had plenty of time to party at the hotel bar after the wedding!

My CH starts at 1230 and the reception goes until 6. I was a little worried at first but I think it will be a good time. Especially since people will be happy to do more drinking and partying after the hotel bar.

My friend had a day wedding and we ended up at the hotel bar until like 1am afterwards...we had a blast!!
My ceremony is at 2 and the CH starts at 2:30 and reception ends at 7:30. We did this because we have an amazing view of the great south bay and wanted all of our guest to enjoy the sunset.
I went to a wedding where the ceremony was at 11:30 and R was 12-5. It was fine. In fact we were cracking up because it was inside where there were no windows and it felt like night and we were like 'we're totally smashed and when we get outta here its gonna be 5 oclokc!'
I think you are fine...

Re: Day vs night Wedding?
I'm having a night wedding because I am not a morning person but i honestly feel that people will have fun whether it's day or night. It doesn't matter the time of day, people can have fun at anytime as long as they know how to have fun.

I am having a day wedding. I think people will have just as good a time during the day as the evening.

I'm not a morning person either, but I really love day weddings. Especially if you have a venue with a garden. I also know that if there's an open bar, with my family that's all that's needed to have a great party!

Re: Day vs night Wedding?
i'm just not a morning person, which is why my church isn't until 5:15. i went to an afternoon wedding a few years ago and i was so bored. it was the worst wedding i had ever been to. i also remember getting home and being tired, but not tired enough to go to sleep.
the price difference is definitely enough to make you want to pick an afternoon.
but i'm sure if you have open bar and good music, everyone will have a good time.

Re: Day vs night Wedding?
no worries, we all had a BLAST at yesterday's day wedding!! i am having one myself. i think the only downfall here, is that we would just have to get our hair/makeup done REALLY early (which i dont mind because its not like im sleeping the night before anyway!)
