Day wedding...what to do afterwards...

So the wedding ends at 5, what do people usually do after a day wedding?????

We are staying at the Hyatt but they have a small bar. I dont want to stay at the manor since we'll be there all day but i dont want people driving either. i was thinking the Garden City hotel's bar? do i go in my dress?

Ours ends at 6 and we are going back to the hotel bar. I am staying in my dress just getting out of my shoes.

I would stay in your dress or get a nice little whit dress that you can stay in mine ends at 1am so I am going to bed after mine but FH thinks we are going down to the bar were we are getting married so we can hang out with people I told him HELL NO!!!!

Garden City hotel sounds good to me and I would definitely rock my dress all day and night!

my best friend had a day wedding this past August. It ended at 530. Her reception was at the VIew in Oakdale. The bridal party and some close family went back to the hotel in Ronkonkoma (Holiday Inn) and hung out in the hotel bar. She changed into a short white dress that she bought for after the wedding. But thats completely up to you. You could totally stay in your dress.

We were there til about 11 and then everyone left. Between drinking and being up at 330 in the morning we were all exhausted, but we had an amazing time so it was all worth it.

Oh thanks ladies!! I'm getting sleepy just thinking about being up so early and for so long. The hotel has a small bar but big lobby. I should look for an after party dress but I love my dress and want to wear it now!!! I guess I should look into transportation from WM to Garden City hotel. Maybe Ollie's can send a nice Lincoln rather then an Ollie's white car with OLLIE written all over it! Lol

It was definitely a loooooong day! lol I don't know where my energy to stay up that long came from. You can do it!

And you should totally just stay in your dress if you want! You can always buy a back up this way if you want to get out of your wedding dress, you can. I would totally stay in mine!! lol.

ANd you should call Garden city hotel and see if they offer a shuttle service. Most hotels will provide one if you book over 10 rooms with them. Doesn't hurt to ask, unless you already know they won't. Just a thought. HTH!

THIS exactly!! Though I may hang out at the bar for a bit in the hotel, or just have everyone come back to our suite and hang out for a bit!!

This is exactly what we are doing. Even getting a second dress for the party!!!

I say just hit the hotel bar with any of your guests that will be staying. For my brother's afternoon wedding the bridal party actually just went back to their place and hung out for the evening.
