DB Vent-long-UPDATE

I have been trying to hold it together about the David Bridal alteration nightmares I have endured. I have read so many bad things on here about them, so I had my guard up. Last Thur, they called to cancel my Fri fitting (the next day) because there was a seamstress out sick. Well-uh you had my dress for six weeks, why did you wait to now . I explained I was fine with going in on Tues, but not my daughter. I have her alternating weekends and it had to be done. I ripped up the mgr. He said he was new and hired to fix these issues and dealt with over 100 that day! They told me they would get my daughter's done. 1/2 hour later they called to say my dress was done after rescheduling me to tues but said I can keep my appmt for Fri. Well, the messed up the alterations on both. My bustle was completely wrong and my daughter's hem was wrong! They wanted to charge me more to fix it!! I freaked and she said that she won't charge me. I asked her to pay me for my inconvenience. We rescheduled for tonight, w/o my daughter, who will have to go next fri, the night before. I told them they will have to fix it on the spot if they can't get it right the second time. I drove in heavy traffic and pouring rain to get there tonight and guess what--they messed my appmt up!!! I was in for tomorrow so my dress wasn't ready!! FH works tom and we have 1 car and the bachelorette is tom night!!! The mgr said he will make sure I get right in and out and to call when I am on my way. We will see. Someone was in there getting an alteration on a girl's dress and complaining how bad they messed it up.

UPDATE: I called them to see if my dress was done since Rob, the mgr, said he would ask them to do the dress first at 9:30 am and have it ready when he came in at 11:30am. Well now he told me that it won't be ready until 3:30pm!!! I have to be at FSIL for bachelorette at 5:15pm, that won't work. So I rescheduled for Monday night since FH works tomorrow and I won't have a car during the day and I have a business show in the later afternoon. Let's see what happens next.

OMG that is horrendous! I am sorry that you are dealing with this...hopefully they come through in the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what DBs alteration issues are, but what a mess. I went there Fri in the heavy rainstorm to find that they gave me the wrong appmt. They promised to have it ready by 11:30 am on Sat. since i had the bachelorette party. I called Sat and they told me that the earliest would be 3:30. So I couldn't make it. I r/s for today. I called this am. guess what, it was not done I told them I was coming on my lunch at 2:15 and it better be ready. Stop what you are doing and work on my dress!!! And when I get there, I expect to be out in 30 min since I am on lunch. You can now accomodate me. They called me cell like an hour later and told me that I need to go in to have the bustle re-measured!!! So they catered to me when I got there, had 3 of them working on it, but I had to come again after work!! I picked it up tonight, and I hate it!! I am so tired of dealing with it though I have wings on my a s s I brought my dress to someone to keep it there, who was a seamstress. First thing she asked was-what is this???? I am so upset, but what can I do? They obviously can't get it right.

This is the one in Lake Grove right? Oy vey...I spoke to that guy too....I hope my problems with them don't get any worse..... Sorry this happened to you...

i am so sorry you are going thru this! i bought my dress at davids and for the most part they were very helpful BUT i read on here about how bad they were with alterations so i found someone else!! my mom knew someone who did it out of her house on the side! i was so greatful after hearing stories like this!! i hope it all works out!

Let me guess... this is the DB in Lake Grove??? I am sure you've read the issues I had with them! I am so sorry! What a nightmare! I am writing them a nasty letter and mailing it to corporate, I just haven't done it yet. They are a bunch of @$$ holes, seriously!

Oh, and if you need a seamstress to fix their screw ups, I know someone in Centereach who all my BMs used for their alterations. The lady told them they get brides all the time coming in w/ DB screw ups

I'm sure it will be fine.

My sister went to the one in westbury and had similar problems - her hem was so crooked, you could tell just by looking at it! BUT - the squeaky wheel gets the oil, she made a big deal about it and it ended up PERFECT in the end.

You'll be fine!!!!
