I feel really bad throwing out cards, especially from the wedding, bridal and baby showers, engagement, etc. But whats the limit ? I 'say' im gonna put them into scrapbooks as I make them, but I doublt I'll wind up keeping all.
Does anyone just throw out cards? or do you just keep em in a box? (clutter clutter )

Re: DE-Cluttering - Do you save your cards ??
I agree, I feel bad and I'm always planning on doing something...
I keep them in a photo box (the cardboard ones). They don't take up too much room. I have all my baby shower and all the cards from when they were born together stacked in their closet (I keep thinking they'll want them when they are older, but what will happen is my future DIL's will end up with the clutter, just like I have DH's!)

Keep those cards and put them in a special keepsake album. Some of the girls on here did that and I thought that was a great idea. I want to do the same thing. If you throw them out, you may regret it.
I just recently threw out all cards (except wedding related ones - and a few DH has given me over the years)
I think eventually I will chuck the ones that are just signed...and maybe keep close friends and family's cards...
when I first started teaching, I asked a veteran teacher if they keep class sets of their dittos/handouts(just keep a few copies)...he said no...but he saw in my face that I didn't want to throw them out...so he said the time will come when you will want to throw them out...and it did...I knew that I didn't have to keep it...
so if you have doubts...keep them for now, and when the time is right you will know

i always feel TERRIBLE throwing them away... but i do! i can't stand the clutter (like you anna) so wind up just throwing them out. horrible, right? i think cards are really nice, but they hve gotten so friggin expensive nd they are just not worth it! i'm th type who will go to hallmark and buy about 10 - 15 at a time (for upcomingbdays, shoers, weddings, etc), and i spend $40 - $50 sometimes!!! just not right! especially since we know where most of them are going!

I did save the wedding cards in a bundle. Cards for the baby, I cut out the really cute designs and pictures and made scrapbook stuff (which I have yet to do!). The only other cards I save are cards DH & I give each other. Cards from Lukie now of course too. And some very sentimental ones....like some from my nephew when he was little.
I mainly make the cards that I give.

I hate clutter too. I cut them up and decoupaged them to a big box where I keep things I am saving like my toasting flutes, etc..
I think you have seen the box I made which is really an example of what NOT to do ... but i know they can be arranged in a much more attractive way than I did it. And despite the fact that I dont think it looks great, it has meaning to me rather than throwing it in a shoebox and doesnt take up extra room.
