How dumb was that show? I am so glad that woman only got 5 bucks....and even more pissed that I wasted my time watching it......

I watched it Monday - the guy got $300,000+! It was kind of lame, but of course I had to keep changing back to it to see how much he would win I told FH we should go on that gameshow - since it takes pretty much no skill

You initially pick a case that you hope has a million (or more) dollars in it. Then you pick 5 cases & they all have different dollar amounts in them from 1 penny to a million dollars (minus the case you selected).
After 5 cases the 'banker' calls & offers you money that you can walk away with or you can continue picking cases hoping that the big $$$ is in your case....
I actually like the show....I see I'm in the minority
PS---I too was happy the woman ended up w/ 5....too greedy!

Pretty much it is based all on luck. If yyou pick cases and they have small amounts in then, then the chance that the case you initially picked has big $$$$ in it goes up - so the 'bank's' offer will be high. If you pick cases and they have big $$$ in them (1M, 500K, 250K), then the bank's offer will drop cause they know you have no shot of winning the big bucks. The bank's offer is based on statistics of what dollar amounts are 'still out there' and what you could possibly have in your Initally picked case.
ETA: It is so hard to explain. Stupid game

yup...what cin said....
so at the end, you want the most money, you hope the big dollor amount is in the case.
the banker calls to offer money so they don't lose a larger sum of money.
the women got greedy last night. she had 80k and risked it for 300k with the odds against her (not sure why)
Monday night, the guy was cool...he could of played once more (i would of) cause there were still 2 high dollor amounts left. he did make the right choice as his box was a low dollor amount but the odds were in his favor.

another fan of the show here. i was watching the italian version of this game before it even got to the US lol my parents have the italian satellite so we get italian programming 24 hours a day and they had this game before it aired here...kinda funny
