so i posted a reception hall ? on the bhb boards but wanted to see what you girls thought as well!
we've narrowed our reception halls down to the carltun and the woodlands.
at the carltun we'd probably do a sat afternoon or friday night and at the woodlands we'd probably do a sat night.
we like both and we keep getting a pretty even split for both!!!! so if anyone has any feedback/info that would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!!!!

Re: debating b/w 2 halls
I've never been to either, but I say: just go with your gut. Don't make lists of pros and cons, don't say, 'I like this one, but..., and on the other hand, this one is great, but...'. Just picture your wedding in your head. Picture you running out for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Which place are you running into? Have it there.

Re: debating b/w 2 halls
I actually saw both places as well. My mother and I had my sister's bridal shower at the Carltun. The Cartlun is BEAUTIFUL!! IMO i like the Carltun much better but the Woodlands was also very pretty. The service at the Carltun was very good as was the food!!!!! Good luck!!!

GO W/ THE WOODLANDS!!!!!!
THE FOOD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD....the people at the carltun are sooooooooooo rude JMO...sorry carltun brides...I spoke to the woman over the phone and instead of being nice about pricing she was sooooo condesending!!! She was like 'Well our facility caters to a very specific group and its not for everyone. there's a place out there to fit every budget so don't feel bad about not being able to afford this place....
I almost jumped through the phone and strangles the B*tch!!!
Anyway, my moh is getting married at the woodlands and we went to the restaurant upstairs and tried the food HOLY CRAP....amazing!!!! Plus the place itself is gorgeous. JMO- I ddon't think you'd ever be able to make back the $$$ at the Carltun...not to be cheap but...its a consideration...HTH!!!

I probably won't be much help..but I've never been to either! DO what everyone was telling me (when i was stuck between two) go with your gut and where you can see you and your fh having your first dance (that really worked for me!)

Re: debating b/w 2 halls
I have been to both- the food is fabulous and both weddings were great... go where you feel the most comfortable and the place that will be most accomidating to your needs.

Re: debating b/w 2 halls
maureen at the woodlands is so super nice and i love the exotic martini line! we're going to call both places and see which one can accomodate all of our random food requests....that might also help us decide.
i also need to find out if fh's cousin is going to pick the carltun. her originally date was booked so she might not go with it. but if she does, i obviously wont pick her place since she'll be june '08 and ill be oct 08. i hope she doesnt cuz i would like to have my options open.
thanks for everyone listening to me go on and on! i appreciate all the input!
