From what I can gather on 'proper' wording, the deceased parents names is not mentioned. It would just be Mrs. Karen XXX invites you.....

Personally, I think your right. I think your dad's name should ABSOLUTELY be on the invite!

Re: Deceased parent invite wording????

Not trying to sound *****y, because my mother has passed away...

I dont know if I would like her name on it, only because I dont want to upset any of my relatives. After 6 years still a raw subject...we all get very upset.

Though I will have her name mentioned during the service along with FI father who has passed. We are trying to decide whether to have a song dedicated to their memory at the reception with family members getting up to dance. Not sure...

Re: Deceased parent invite wording????

You would write:
Karen Miller
daughter of Elizabeth Miller and the late Peter Miller
request the honor of your presense....

It cannot read
Elizabeth Miller and the late Peter Miller
request the honor of your presense

Only a living person can issue an invite.
You can honor your father in many ways during your day. Consider having his favoriate song played, or having his photo near when you are getting ready.
