Re: December Brides

Were taking pics at the houses prior, then church, then RH. We won't have enough time between church and reception to go anywhere else, plus it will be dark by then. We're debating pushing up the ceremony a half hour so we can squeeze some daylight out of church pics.

Luckily, our RH totally rocks for pics

Yes your right the RH is beautiful.

Are you going to the showcase on the 16th next month? If so maybe I'll recognize you there...I'll say hello :)

Re: December Brides

I just got married last weekend. Fortunately it was not bitter cold maybe 45-50, but like you, I was very concerned with the photos, and making sure we took some outdoors. We had our DOC make sure we did not have a receiving line at church, although everyone did wait for us to blow bubbles and such. We were just trying to save as much daylight as possible. We even had a full mass, which ended right on time, to allow us at least 30 mins of sunset.. We did not want to see one another beforehand.

But the girls and I took pics outside my house, we took plenty of pics outside the church, and we even had just enough light to go to Brightwaters to take some pics. Yes, it was cold, but I really wanted outdoor pics. The limo driver gave me his coat in the middle of pics - and the limo was heated. Honestly, you are so amped up that day, you really wont feel the cold as much as you normally would. We took plenty of pics indoors at the RH, but just suck it up, and take the pics outside, you wont regret it when you get your proofs back!

I didn't know there was another showcase...I'll have to ask FH, he was bummed his father missed the last one, so maybe we'll go!

My church is at 3:00...but it's greek orthodox so it's at least an hour long, plus time to clear out church is 4.30, plus time for pics is about a half hour/45 min so 5-5.15, and it's a good half hour to 40 minutes to get to VL from there so 5.45-6, then CH at 7.30! I think it's cutting it very close, and doesn't allow much time for traffic, inclement weather, road closures or other emergencies, etc. Eep!

Re: December Brides

I am trying not to stess about the outside pics. My RH sets up so nice but I will probably take pics with my girls outside and the RH hall also has a huge tree out side in their court yard that they decorate so I will probably take pics there with a velero coat or a faux fur shawl ( haven't decided which one I want yet) Plus if we miss daylight the tree will be all lit up so it will still look pretty.
