Anyone know of any condos in the Nassau area that wont break the bank??? We're not looking to move just yet, but would like to start getting some ideas...
TIA!

how long do you have to commute?
See I used to commute 2 hours and while i did just deal with it for a while, i do have to say after a long time it did get to me. It was hard getting out of work at 4:30 but not getting home until 6:30, i would think wow i just spent 2 hours of my day on the train actually just one way, and would think that 4 hours of my day was spent just sitting on trains.
Dh now has a long commute and i feel real bad for him. It depends on the situation i guess. If he had to be at work at 9am it would be better, but most times he has to be there by 7am and when a job is an hour to an hour and a half a way it can be a big pain. Just this morning i had to put the alarm for 5am and he had to leave by 5:30am, then the long commute home stuck in traffic, i can see what its doing to him. Luckily for us its going to be the opposite, his jobs now are mostly in suffolk, so were moving from a place where its more expensive to less expensive so does work out in that sense. But bc of his commute we are moving.

i agree, the price is very appealing.. i mean you dont come across that everyday.... vin is spoiled now... it takes him 15 mins to get to work... hes actually the one saying he doesnt wanna go far

Re: Decently priced condos???
I live in Suffolk and bought my condo last year.. since then the price has dropped 40K... yes thats right.. 40k.. and thats for the biggest model, so I paid 40k more for the small model when I could have waited a year and got the huge two floor with garage townhouse. To make matters worse everytime I drive in I see a big sign that says what the new price is. I secretly made my dog take a #2 under it one day.. but then I felt guilty and cleaned it up 2 min later.
Anyhow, my point is...its a nice place but poor FH travels about 1 to 1.5 hours a day to work and he seems pretty miserable about that!! I cant wait to get a house closer to Nassau in a few years.
Sorry I used your topic to vent!

Re: Decently priced condos???
Even with the way the real estate market is, Nassau county is not conducive to affordable housing, we found our place...a rental on craigslist, we really wanted to buy, but we couldn't. we're just going to wait, I say expand your horizons and see what you could find, you never know....
