decision isnt getting any easier

Ok so i have been tossing and turning the last week now. I cant decide if i want to see fh before the ceremony. Turns out we will have to pay more for the limos (no longer drop off and pick up price) and i heard that pictures at westbury gardens cost money as well. I know it is a personal decision but it isnt a easy one. I dont know how to go about it. i just want him to be surprized when i come donw the aisle. Please help!!

Welcome to my world!!!!!! I have been struggling with this for weeks! I think I might just do it. When it comes down to it- walking down the aisle to my husband will be so special no matter what... and I would rather take great pics BEFORE i cry my eyes out for half an hour!! I know how hard of a decision it is!! Everyone that I have spoken to (photogs, girls on the board, family, friends) all say to take the pics before. I think I am going to listen

I hear ya. I get the same response. except from one person only. My mom.. she means the world to me and i dont want to disappoint her. she has had such a rough year and i feel like if i do it and something happens to her i will feel guilty. My mom has been dreaming about this day since the day i was born. i want it to be just as special for her as well.

It is def a very personal decision. And I was soooo set on not seeing him first until we met with our photog. All the points he mentioned about missing the CH and not getting any good pics before it got dark, etc... it just all made sense. It was a very hard decision though- I think I was only able to decide once I really sat there and weighed out the pros and cons. When It finally came down to it- it will still be a very special moment when we first see eachother and a very special moment when I walk down the aisle. ALTHOUGH, if it is bad weather then this all goes to sh*t and I am not seeing him before the wedding

I toyed with this decision for a long time. My FH and I decided that him seeing me walk down the aisle of the church and seeing me there for the first time is a priceless moment that we will never get to acheive again. We are taking pictures afterwards at a local park for about 45 min. We have a photojpunalist photographer who will do the posed pictures in 15 minutes and then she'll take pictures while my FH and I and our bridal party hang out in the park.playground.

It is all about how you feel that day and what is important to you. I knew that I personally would not want to see him until I'm walking down the aisle.

But everyone is different.

My FH does not want to take photo's before, he wants that special moment as well. I think I am going to try and take as many before ( him with his family, me with my family, him with the guys, me with the girls) before, so after we just have to take a couple with everyone together and ours. I actually want more candid/photojournal photo's than posed.

That sounds like a good idea.

We took pictures before and did didnt 'spoil' anything. The photographer set it up so that his back was turned and I walked up behind him. It was amazing. Then we had a blast taking pics. And then we hung out in the bridal suite for alittle bit and then got married. Walking down the aisle was still an incredible experience.

Here are some pics:

These are from the first time seeing each other:

What time is your ceremony and what time is your reception?
We never even considered seeing eachother before the ceremony- that's a once and a lifetime event- and we wanted our guests to share in that and be able to see our faces (you'd be surprised how many people comment to you about watching the groom's face or watching your face...). Most of the people there have important relationships with you and are family or like family from one of your sides and some of them have been waiting longer than you have for that moment (besides your parents).
I did 90% of my pics w/ my bridal party and my family beforehand (minus my SIL b/c she was at DH's house getting ready). Then we went and got pics of us w/ bridal party in b/t the ceremony and cocktail hour and then headed right to the reception hall where we met our parents and got those pics quick and were pretty much available for the cocktail hour.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you're doing it b/c its what both you want!

FH and I will not be seeing each other before the ceremony, we struggled with it for a while but decided we did not want to give up that moment of seeing each other while walking down the aisle. We do not have much time between our ceremony and reception (1/2 hour) so I talked to our photographer and worked out a schedule. We will be doing pics separately before the ceremony. Then miss half the cocktail hour to do pics together. Then we will miss 10 mins here 10 mins there during the reception to do other pics we need. It's a hassle, but for us it was definitely worth it.

do it! he's going to be surprised either way...! and you'll get to talk and stare and hug all you want and not have to jump right into the ceremony

I'm without any doubt NOT seeing FH before the wedding, in fact a whole week before.

We live together so there is a huge familiarity issue. Meanwhile there will be people at this wedding he hasn't seen in a long time even family and his son who he can't see every day, but he sees me everyday. Hence why I know that to be the center of his attention I have no choice but to hang with my parent's for a week and not to see him before I walk down the aisle.

I will get all my family and BM pics out of the way before hand and have the photographer do the same with FH. Then during CH it's just a few of the BP together, me with the guys, him with the girls and then just us while the BP eats and we'll join them soon after.

I agree with this. FH and I have been living and working together for almost 7 years. We are together all the time. I am so looking forward to saying goodnight to him and then seeing him the next night when I walk down the aisle.

I think I amgoing to wait to see fh. We have 3.5 hours in between ceremony and reception (granted it takes 45 min to get from church to reception, so 2 hrs. 45 min. between). The only thing is, I have my photographer booked from 1 Pm and the ceremony's at 3. What does he do for those 2 hours? BP pics?

our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all at one place. so, our time is limited between each to get all the pictures done. i think it's great if you have time between ceremony and cocktail hour/reception, but that wasn't an option for us. if you're crunched for time and want great pictures with the least amount of stress, then you should consider pictures before the ceremony.
