Decorating ideas

ok so we are doing over the apt. upstairs from my parents to live in after the wedding. . .

we are going to start in January and i have NO idea what to do

where do you ladies get your ideas from??

I look at some of these magazines and they don't really translate to a small attic apartment of three rooms!

but do you have a favorite site or magazine that i could look at to get ideas? and then hopefully replicate them for about $5 a room?

honestly, i get ideas for my apartment from my catalogs in the mail..specifically pottery barn and crate and barrel!

somethings i will by from them...or i go to pier 1..because i find them to be less $$$

honestly - we paroused home depot. and i picked paint colors. once i knew what colors i loved - i knew what would work in each room.

You should check out the 'Your Home' board on The Nest. The women who post on there have a lot of great ideas and pictures in their bios - all kinds of apartments and houses too.

my mom only likes a few colors for the walls in her house - white, cream, off white, ivory ( you get the idea) . . . so now that i can actually pick ANY COLOR - even that is overwhelming!!!!
