Deer Park Schools?

Anyone know how these are? I looked at the mlsli listing and they looked ok. Not as good as some of the toher towns we were looking in (Smithtown, Hauppauge, Commack) but the houses seem much more affordable as well as the taxes.

I was just wondering...

Now-a-days it's really not all about 'good' or 'bad' All that blue ribbon crap is like non-existent these days...

It truly depends on what you are looking for in a elementary/jr./high school district..

Marcella - I guess you are right... excpet what should I be looking for in a school?

FH and I liked our schools (Kings Park) and FH (Plainedge) I just don't want to move into a district that is not comparable to what we had I guess. The search continiues.....

i had a colleague who worked there and she never gave any mention one way or the other...


but just FYI...they had MAJOR labor disputes in the late 90s...bad enough that they were days away from a strike (which is illegal and costly for teachers so you know things got BAD) things may have gotten better...just something to look into...
