DH has a cousin who lives in Canada. She was invited to my shower and she and her fiance were invited to the wedding.
She didn't come to the shower or the wedding, she didn’t even give us so much as a card!
So now she's sending out an email alerting everyone that her wedding will be taking place in Canada, and she wanted feedback on whether it should be in August or September. She said they were eloping, but isn't the whole point of eloping that the couple 'runs off to get married' somewhere without anyone else (or maybe with 2 witnesses)?
so here's the thing, DH and I are definitely not going. But should we send anything?

Maybe just send a card. Even though she didnt send you a card, be the better person and just send a card, no gift.

yea, I guess that I can do.
what tickes me off is that her mom (DH's aunt) will most likely throw her a shower and invite me. DH's aunts hosted a shower for me in OH where most of his family lives. she didn't come or send anything for my OH shower. but I feel like if I don't send something, his whole family will talk about it

I'm like that too sometimes. but in this case, I know word would get around, especially if she does have a shower in OH and I don't send anything.

Did word get around that she didn't send anything for your shower or wedding? If so, what was the word? Was she even slightly embarrassed? Was it a huge family scandal? I mean seriously, how much do you care? Personally, I would send a card to congratulate her on the marriage, but I would totally blow off the shower.

nope, no one said anything, at least not to me. my MIL knows and is appalled that she didn't at least send a card, but she didn't say anything (not that I am aware of). DH does have a pretty big family. lots of female cousins who are very catty,
