Deflated

Deflated

I can't help but feel a little deflated tonight with some recent occurances here. I guess the new trend here is that we're not supposed to sound TOO excited about the vendors we booked, or we may give off the wrong impression that something is 'fishy.'

Well, I'll say right now, that when questions come up in the future, I will stand behind all of my vendors as strongly as I have in the past, unless they give me reason not to.

Please don't take it personally. There have been instances in the past where vendors have been caught posing as brides. It is a little disheartening to those of us that come to this board for advise and are advised (or tricked) by self-serving vendors. Your input and enthusiasm are appreciated. Some brides of this board are leery of the boasting, and that is because they have been bitten in the past by these poser brides. Like I said, don't take it personally.

Any ideas? I've seen swan club, but the room they showed me, the after deck is very small and I can't marry outside in the gardens.

Westbury Manor needs 75 as gaurantee minimum.

What makes these leery brides experts at weeding out the posers from the real thing?

Mary, I am offended, because I don't like hearing from some people that we should just pass along names and not go beyond that. To me, that is against everything this board is about.

I am sorry you are offended, that is not what I intended in my posting. Don't let something like this board take away from your excitement. Stay excited and continue to be excited, you are getting married and you have every right to be excited. If other brides want to be skeptical, let them. We should all be so lucky to have as much done as you have. Good luck.

I am having my maids in the same color, but different dresses. To be super-sure the colors are the same, the shop recommended I order from the same designer at the same time so the dresses come from the same dye lot. There are additional similarities between all the dresses ie: beading along each neckline to further 'connect' them.

So far, so good(!)

Mary, I didn't mean you offended me, I meant I was offended by people trying to tell others here they should not rave about their vendors. Sorry for the confusion.

Issues (Long)

Linda,

First off, thanks for the support. I'm glad someone out there feels the way I do.

If people here didn't care who was booking who, they wouldn't be coming here asking questions about various vendors, or asking for suggestions on vendors.

Why is it that you bother coming here?

Obviously I did not get that impression at all from any poster on that DJ thread. The only foul impression I got from that thread was you telling people 'I don't think you need to sell people on this DJ.'

Just back off and let people say what they want and how much they want about their vendors, no matter what the circumstance. If you've read enough for your own tastes, quietly move on. Someone else may still be reading and still be curious of what is being said. Or, they may be interested in even more info than what has already been passed along. You never know, and you have no right making that decision for us.

I'm not sure of the situation that happened on the board but I can say that I used Bridal Suite of Bay Shore for my dress, headpiece/veil, bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dress, and I had such a great experience there. The people were extremely accomodatind and helpful. Good Luck & Congratulations!!!
