if you still would like to stay in the education field, look into speech therapy i'm a speech therapist at a school and i really like it! you get all the benefits of the school schedule and benefits, but i only see 2 or 3 kids at a time, instead of a whole classroom full..... this makes it easier to do more 'fun' game type stuff with the kids.... and i don't just do stuff where i help kids with lisps or the 'R' sound. i also do language therapy, which could be anything from helping them increase their attention span, to following directions they hear, to increasing vocabulary, to grammar stuff... its really NEVER boring- LOL
AND the whole feild is sooo in demand right now- there are constantly job postings. and if you don't want to work at a school, you can do early interventon with really young kids or a nursing home with people who have had strokes and are having trouble communicating....

ETA: to work as a speech therapist, you need to have your masters degree... its a 2 year masters program- basically one year of classes, and then one year of internships in different settings

I completely agree! I am a speech teacher at a public school and its a fantastic job! Only about 3 kids per session vs. 20 something kids at a time. Def. look into it.

Re: degree

I have a B.A. in Film Production, which is far less useful than a teaching degree.

I then went to law school and got my J.D.
