I don't have this problem but I really do feel for you I too would be upset, probably pisse off. Hopefully persons will want to celebrate with you also and come back into town for the wedding or knew of your wedding and plans first and will decide to make the trip for yours. Hope it all works out

I am so sorry. I understand how you feel. Have you sent out Save the Dates? If not, I would send them out soon so that all olur freinds know your date. If this 15% are close friends I am sure they will make every effort to be there and because two destination weddings can be hard to make you want to let them know now the date of yours. Send out your save the dates but do not get too worried - booking a place in less than a year is not easy and who knows if your friend will find a place she likes with a date she likes open.

i understand why you are upset but there is really nothing you can do....you dont own anything and it doesnt really matter that you got engaged first....my FHs cousin got engaged in Feb and is planning a June wedding (5 month engagement) - we got engaged like 6 or 7 months before him in July and we booked our wedding for December - so now his cousin is getting married before us - we have no hard feelings about it - maybe if they were getting married a few weeks before us it would sting a little, but there is really nothing we can do - we are the ones who chose to have a 1yr and a half engagement and we chose a date we loved and we still love it - nothing is changing, we are still marrying eachother....i know for myself - if a close family member already booked their wedding and then i got engaged i might feel uncomfortable getting married before them (unless it was a really long engagement like 2 years or more) because i wouldnt want it to look as if we were trying to steal their thunder - but thats just me....but anyway the only concern i have is if this chick gets same dress as me (since i ordered mine before she was even engaged! ) but the chances of that happening are slim to none....your wedding wont be any less special so dont worry

make sure if you havent sent STDs yet to send them soon, your friends and family know you have been engaged longer and know about your wedding and are already planning for it. hopefully they can go to both. the most important people will be there.

i dont think that you are wrong..i would be upset as well! i mean ..i know they are happy and everything and they decided to get married that day but i would feel sooo second place..like ...oo we already went to the wedding ..now its the second one....you know,,,,
but at the same time...what can you really do...shes happy ....you cant change their minds....so i guess u gona have to just ignor and plan away!!!!

I dont have this problem but i totally understand how you feel. It would upset me as well. However, I think that if these peopke ar eimportant to you & you are to them, then they will make it back for your weding. Plus you can see everything at her wedding that you DO NOT want at yours. that way it makes it better for you! lol

i would be upset too. this almost happened to me with a family member. i didn't voice my opinion and they actually ended up changing their date to after mine. i felt bad after that...i felt like i was being childish. i had to talk to myself and made sure that i realized that our weddings will not be the same experience. a small cozy wedding is no less important or spectacular than a larger event. dont worry!
