Heat and pressure and can bring out hives and itchiness. So between the moving and then the heat and pressure from the shower probably triggered it again.

See if you can take a benedryl in addition to what you already took. Lie down in a room with AC and put cold compress on the parts that are the most severe.

Definitely try the Benadryl. Be careful to take it when you have a lot of time to dedicate to SLEEP because it could make you sleepy within a half hour. Liquid seems to work faster than the pills. And I know it's late right now, but don't drive after taking it.

I've have severe allergies/asthma since I'm 8 yrs old, and Benadryl is my old stand-by medicine. I had a really bad reaction to a one-time dose of Zithromax a few summers ago, extremely itchy for an entire week, and the only thing that relieved the itchiness was Benadryl every 4 hours.

You can also try bathing with Aveeno, or taking cool showers, not regular hot ones. The heat seems to make hives worse (at least for me).

Not to scare you, but allergic reactions can be very serious. If the hives don't go away with Benadryl treatment, or you feel tightness in your chest, your throat closing up, or your tongue feels like it's swelling, definitely get to a doctor. These are signs of a severe allergic reaction.

Good luck and let us know how you're feeling!! Hope this helps!
