All the time!! We brought this up when we first got engaged. But grandpa isn't well and wouldn't be able to come and grandma won't leave him, so we decided to do traditional. Plus, my dad is really really happy that I'm doing this big wedding.

YES! My Brother did this though and it was nice but not everyone came and I want my family and friends to be able to come!

yess all the time...and i think it would save so much money too!! lol and i do that wedding much sooner lol ahh its such a nice thought!! but then i realize my mother would kill me lol!!!

yeah, i agree.. i is a nice thought but not practical for so many reasons. My FH and I totally wanted to do this, but for health reasons of my family we couldnt.

Yes, all the time. I think its nicer when its close family and friends there. I would have loved an intimate wedding. It would totally eliminate the people who just want to come to see what u have been planning for so long.

I actually posted something just like you did the other day... I was looking through the martha stewart weddings for Sandals brochure and I just got that feeling!!!!! There are definitely pros and cons. It would be so unique and special, but at the same time, other people that you would want to be there miht not be able to make it. I always felt that it might be a lot to ask for people to spend the money to go away... I don't know I am very torn! My sister got married last May, and she said if she could do it all over again, she would do a destination wedding with just the fam!

Yes, we actually looked into Vegas when we were there and after discovering how much things would cost there, we changed our minds. We also wanted to get married on a cruise, but that wouldn't work cause no one would have the time or money for it. So we ended up in good old long island!!!!

All the time!!! I wanted to go to Disney and do it but FH wasn't too hot on the idea. A close family friend had theirs in St. Thomas, it was beautiful.

Sometimes I wish I did that...just a simple party with family and close friends.

I didn't know how hard wedding planning would be or how hard PLEASING people would be!!

It does seem like a great idea. I do have to say all of the stress, money and planning was well worth it. We had an outdoor ch and a steel drum and it was amazing!!!!
