everyone does stuff differently. maybe MOB wants to take charge on this.

im a BM in a july wedding too...bride wrote email saying to call her mom to see if she needs help. i called mom. sweet woman. but she was basically like, yeah, we are set. i offered to give my phone number in case they needed anything. she said if she needs it she will get it from the bride. ...at first i was ..but honestly, who cares. if she wants to run it. more power to her. i got other thigns to worry about. im glad i offered to help. and thats all i can do
so some advice to you. let it go. worry about your own stuff. if/when help is needed they will ask. if not, just go, smile and be happy

Yes it would annoy me, and this is EXACTLY what happened when my best friend got married. Only it wasn't $50 for CP's. It was $100 for a gift because everything else was done! I didn't even know the date of the shower until her hubby told me! If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have known until I got the invitation. All of a sudden one day I got an email saying 'We've decided to buy them a video camera and I need each of you to chip in $100!' I was like WHAT????????
But I did it, and dealt with it, because that's what a good BM does

I would be annoyed!!! But then again every BP that I have been in the MOB has paid for the shower and all of the BMs have chipped in $100 or so for a good gift like the brides pots

i would be annoyed & i was annoyed when i was in the same situation.
i was in my friends wedding 2 years ago. her mom lives on the same block as me!! i asked her when the shower was & she said, 'oh the invites haven't gone out yet.' two days later i got a text from my friends sister (MOH) asking for $200 for the shower gift. (there where 8 girls) i was beyond annoyed. i text her back asking what we where purchasing & she said 'the luggage,' she answered me a week later.
then at the shower the luggage was still on back order so i never even got to see it. then she tells us, 'it came out to $150 per person instead of the initial $200, so i gave my mom the remaining money.'
what the hell!!!
