We are going to do a tasting this spring and then if we are not happy, they will do their best to accomodate our situation.

I'm sad and a little annoyed. When we booked with De Seversky, I was really excited for the tasting. It was recommended we wait till the spring/summer since we are getting married in June and the food would reflect the same season. Then if we wanted another tasting closer to the wedding date, we could pay for another one.
Hey, it's spring! I contacted them to reserve a spot for this June's tasting and was just informed that they switched their policy...now they are trying to limit one tasting per wedding. So they are recommending that I wait till the fall for the tasting so that it'll be closer to the date...
Argh, I'm annoyed because 1) I don't want to wait till fall since the food is very important to me and I haven't tasted anything from them yet. 2) This is not what they told me before we signed...
don't mind me, just rambling.
Be assertive. Tell them that. I fyou want to go to a tasting, and they are 'recommending' that you wait, ignore the recommendation. Are you willing to forgo a later tasting? I'd def wanna know what the food tastes like.

Re: Damn RH switcheroo vent
is it in your contract by any chance that they would give you a tasting in the spring??

Re: Damn RH switcheroo vent
The fall tasting is only a recommendation so I could do it in June but would forego any future tastings. That makes me nervous because I wanted to do the tasting soon so I could get excited/note changes I wanted to make and then pay for a second tasting closer to the date.
I didn't mind paying for additional tastings, now that's not an option so I have to be more selective on when to have it.
That's annoying!

Re: Damn RH switcheroo vent
I would call and speak to the person that you booked with
tell them that you are not happy and that not having a second tasting is NOT an option for you
my RH, played a switcheroo on me too! they told me id have a tasting in april...april rolled around and noone called..I called them and asked what was going on and they said they go down a list based off whose wedding date is sooner
i was pissed because i was told id attend the april tasting...and just like you, i dont want to wait too long to taste the food, in case i dont like it
well I told the guy on the phone just what i said above, ' not attending the tasting is NOT an option for us, we were told we'd attend the tasting and that is what i expect'
he called back 10 minutes later and boom, he 'made room' for us in the tasting!
trust meeee these people need and want your business, if you tell them the situation they should accommodate you!

Yeah, if it's important to you then, to do one now and to have another one that you're willing to pay for, and that's what you were told when you contracted, I would make a stink. You're paying them. You want to know what you're paying for, and that's totally fair. I'd call them back. Be assertive!! Or make FH do it! lol

Re: Damn RH switcheroo vent
My first thought was if it was in the contract somewhere as well. These are promises that were made and put into consideration when you were depositing. I would speak with them about grandfathering you in due to the fact that this was agreed upon before their change of policy.

i don't understand why they will not let you have another tasting later on if you have to pay for it. i would go in spring, especially if the food is reflective of the season!

Re: Damn RH switcheroo vent
Are you serious??? I am a De Seversky bride as well. For me I felt like one tasting was enough personally, but seeing as they just changed their policy you should be grandfathered in. I would explain that to them!

Who are you working iwth there? We were told the same thing, that we get one free tasting, then anything after thatm ust be paid for. We already did one tasting, because we wanted to make sure the food was excellent before we officially booked.
That is not acceptable and you need to fight with them, let them know that you were told differently before you booked.
So if you do a tasting now or in the fall, are they not letting you do one right before your wedding to finalize a menu?

theyre 'RECOMMENDING' you wait.
tell them you dont want to wait. You want to do it in June. You've already paid them a decent amount of money i'm sure and you s houldnt have to wait if you dont want to

Re: Damn RH switcheroo vent
just because they changed their policy after you signed your contract isn't your fault. I would totally talk some sense intot hem and tell them that's not what you agreed upon when signing the contracts.
