Re: Frustration with my mother...(Vent - sorry Long)
Sorry for all the frustration. But i do feel your pain. My mother has tried to get TOO involved to the point I told her ( I know this is mean) to eighter give me money for the wedding and she can help or just leave all the planning for me. She was ordering favors for $10 a piece and then telling me she needed a check for it!!! That was the last straw. I had her return them and that was the last of her involvement. I feel bad I I had to use tough love.

The only thing I can offer is, don't give your mom any details of what you're doing. The little things aren't anything she needs to know, especially if it's going to upset or frustrate you. Just do what you'd like and just let your FH know the cute stuff you're adding to your wedding. If you start telling your mom all the details, she's going to start thinking of ones on her own, and you don't want that.

Thanks. I'll try to leave her out of the rest of the planning. There is only one month to go...I'm sure I can make it.
It just hurts when she blatantly ignores my wishes for Our wedding day.

KV! LOVE the teacup idea!!! I'm sure your mom is just proud of her Irish heritage and maybe feels like she wants to show it off as much as Dan's English. I do think you've done a good job of showing both, and maybe you just need to not tell your mom that you aren't taking her suggestions. If she persists, can you tell her that you do like her idea(s) but think you have already balanced both heritages well and want to leave things the way they are.
I think a lot of times mothers 'win' because we hate not having their approval. Be okay hearing her not agree with you!

Hey KM!...thanks girlfriend!
Yeah, she just gets under my skin. I shut her out for a long time, but began to feel guilty not havng her be there through all of this, but it just reaffirms my original feeling. Only tell her what I have to.
