Re: cold feet...?
I had an OMG moment while looking at one of my bridal magazines the other day!! I was just like omg I'm getting married! I think its normal, we've been dreaming of this day for a looooong time and then to realize its approaching ever so quickly is enough to shake ya for a minute! Just know that their are guys out there that can control themselves and not screw up and I'm sure your FH is one of them!

Re: cold feet...?
Honestly no....I want to get married more than anything. But I can understand why you would fee that way, especially after your uncle...talk to FH about your feeelings. I'm sure more than anyone else he can understand how you're feeling.

After what your family's been going through, it's natural that you'd have doubts about all men in general. But I'm sure your FH is NOT that type of man and never will be. Just keep remembering the reasons you love him and why you're marrying him! I'm going to FM you!

Re: cold feet...?
i have these moments often lately, to the point where i tell FH to call off the wedding. i have been having personal issues that i need to deal with and he has family issues we need to deal with, so im frustrated.
i understand your fear, but dont worry. your FH wont follow in these not so nice footsteps. its def. not cold feet, you are just concerned.
its a stressful time being a bride!

Remember that your FH is NOT ur uncle...also keep in mind the reasons why he's your FH. Don't make him pay for someone else's mistakes.

Re: cold feet...?
I would talk to FH you have a lot of reasons right now to feel this way. Im sure once you talk to him he will reassure you everything is fine and you will remember why your marrying him int he first place. I know whenever Im upset about something and i talk to FH about it he always knows what to say to make me feel better. Maybe you just need some reassurance from him to make you feel better

Re: cold feet...?
I agree completely with what Mikey Meeme wrote.
My parents are divorced and my dad and I aren't that close. When FH and I get into an argument I assume the role of a my father yelling at my mom. I blow in out of proportion and FH reminds me he is not my dad. He isn't yelling at me, etc.
Talk to your FH and I am sure he will reassure you.

Re: cold feet...?
FH is not your uncle and he's not any of the men on your dad's side of the family.
I told my priest three years ago that the reason why FH and me weren't getting married after 10 years together because why should I bother? At that point alot of my friends were either having affairs or getting divorced. So it's easy to think it'll happen to you, but I'm sure it won't.
Talk to FH about it. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Re: cold feet...?
I guess it is normal to think that of all men when you are surrounded by men who cheat...but I think that love is worth the chance....if it were to happen deal with it then...but worrying about it now will only cause you to trust no one.

Re: cold feet...?
I completely understand that you would feel this way after seeing this happen to many other relationships, however, that doesn't mean it happens to ALL RELATIONSHIPS!!! you love FH nd he loves you and he made a commitment to you when he gave you that ring and he will make an even bigger one on your wedding day....From what I 'know' of you and Fh it sounds like he ismadly in love with you and loves you for all of the right reasons... i think you are a recipe for success.... and don't let things that people in your family have done.... get to YOU!

Re: cold feet...?
I personally dont think its cold feet. I think I had a cold feet experience a few months ago. FH and I were going through some problems and I honestly didnt know if I wanted to deal with it. NOt necessarily him per se, just the whole concept of marriage.
You're afraid of what MIGHT happen. But trust is the most important thing to have. You have to have it to work on the marriage.

YES that is exactly what i do. My father is not the nicest man, and if i could i wouldnt invite him to my wedding, so at times when fh gets frustrated, i anticipate him lashing out like my father and panick even more.....
thank you for that

THANK YOU little....
Thank you girls... and you know what it is...i was thinking about it alot today and I think i am more fearful of him cheating like everyone else, and so i say to myself, I should leave him first to not be hurt...
but then, a second later, i realize i cant live without him...
