Just curious if anyone on here has delivered underwater (in a tub) at a hospital. If so, how was it? What hospital was it at? Would you recommend it?

Re: Delivering Underwater
Nassau University Medical Ctr has a WB program, but only through the midwife who has her private practice, and is affiliated with the hospital. The OBs there do not use the tub. FM me if you want more info on her. Michele31 is also using her.
I don't think there are many hospitals that have a water birth programs in LI, or even in NYC. Many birthing centers have tubs to labor in, but not to deliver in. So, I think NUMC is unique in that way.
I was not qualified for the WB, I was really hoping to, but had to be induced. I hope I can do one next time.

Re: Delivering Underwater
You can feel free to FM me any questions. There are many 'rules' about being allowed to deliver in the tub- you cannot have had ANY drugs, been induced, considered high-risk, have a non-standard fetal heart reading, have high blood pressure...
I am hoping to have a waterbirth but with my gestational diabetes that is still up in the air.
