Delta Airlines Subsidiaries? Comair and Chautauqua Airlines?

Delta Airlines Subsidiaries? Comair and Chautauqua Airlines?

OK, so I am flying Delta to the Bahamas, but they have these little subsidiaries that are what I'm actually flying . . .I guess I have to take a small plane because I'm going from FL rather than NY . . .Anyone ever hear of Comair or Chautauqua?

I just took Comair to and from NY. It's a small plane but not super tiny...2 seats on each side of the aisle. But we did have to board on the tarmac, which always annoys me for some reason. Have a good trip!

That's what I figured... alright, I'm not a huge fan of the small plane idea, but the Bahamas make it worth it .. . It's not a propeller plane is it?

I've flown both - I believe they have different sizes, I know for sure thy have a prop plane, but I seem to remember that Comair wasn't. I think the Chautauqua plane is smaller.

They are fine though - just a little noisy.

The Comair planes weren't prop, and they shouldn't be for going all the way from NY to FL. Don't worry - you'll be fine!!

I'm actually going just from Florida to the bahamas! (not from NY) does that matter?

Ooooh, yes, that might change things. They should tell you the type of plane when you make the reservations.

I just checked and Comair does have a turboprop in its fleet. But I can't tell which routes they fly it on.

ETA: According to the web site, Chautauqua doesn't have a turboprop in their fleet, it's all (small) jets.
