I am wondering if anyone knows how Demetrios' dresses 'run' size wise. I usually wear a size 4 and when I ordered my dress, I was told by the saleswoman that I am a size 10. I know that bridal gowns usually 'run' small, but, I was surprised. Since my gown was so inexpensive, I thought maybe they planned on increasing the size to make money on alterations. This store's cap for alterations is $250. Is that average? Just trying to figure out if I was 'taken.' I guess I could be overanalyzing the whole situation and maybe I am a size 10 in this gown.

Re: demtrios dresses and alterations
My dress is Demtrios, I am a 5/6 normally but in the wedding dress I was a size 4. The dress only needed a little work, The work was difficult but not that much. I only need the dress to come up less than an inch, but since it had work at the bottom, the inch needed to get taken up at the waist.
My sisters dress was also Demtrios, her wedding dress was one size bigger than her normal.
They go off of sizing charts given by the designers for each dress.
Why don't you double check with the salon, even look at the chart with them??!!!

I had a Demetrios dress and my dress was a size bigger than my normal size. So I would check again before you order that size.

Mine is DEMETRIOS and it is about a size or two bigger than my regular size--but you can't go by your regular size like in jeans or dresses because bridal dresses are nortorious for running really ridiculously small--$250 sounds really high for alterations--i don't know how cheap your dress was-because i thought they were kind of average priced. MACYS only charges I think $75 cap for alterations-definetely look into this!

Re: demetrios dresses and alterations
My dress is a Demetrious too. I usually wera a size 2, but they ordered a 6 for me because my chest is on the larger side. They said they usually lean toward ordering a dress a little larger because they can always take it in, but if they order it too small or you gain some weight between now and then they can't make the dress bigger.
