Dental Insurance....

Does anyone know how I can go about getting a plan even though my job does not offer it? I am so upet that we don't have dental insurance. This is the first time in my life I have not had it and I would really like to go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. I'm sure I need a filling or something else done, too, but it's so much money Any help would be great! Thanks!

I know that some of the major universities with dental programs have discounted dental plans for those without the insurance coverage. You would have to have your dental work done by supervised dental students, but I think when I was in law school, there was a program at NYU that was like $150. You might want to see if any of the local universities have that as well.

I take it you're not a member of the UFT? I'm sure there's private dental insurance that doesn't cost a fortune somewhere out there!

I'm hoping my job adds it soon, but we're slow to get with the program since we non-profit and have no money. I was told that they just got health insurance the year before I started Thank god! I'm a little warey of using a dental student. I think I would rather pay full price for an experienced dentist. Thanks though!!!!!

I do not know about out in LI, but here in RI, we can get dental plan thru AAA if we are a member....does not hurt to call AAA locally and ask!!
